The story of Get Small is one of parentheticals and qualifiers, of false starts and short stops, of grandiose pronouncements and subsequent retractions. We’ll try to keep it brief:
The boys have been playing together in one form or another since the late 90's, when Brent (singing, guitars, keys), Jason (drums) and John (bass) decided (after firsthand experience) that college was for smart people and they’d be better off (and make their parents proud) by dropping out, at least for a time. The legendary (infamous?) Jimmyrig was born. Old-timers in the Greater Carrollton Area still recall that band with fondness and/or chagrin, depending on their level of tolerance/adoration for earshattering cowpunk songs played more with reckless abandon than technical proficiency.
Degrees in hand and ‘real’ jobs procured, the Jimmyriggers are no longer playing music but all find themselves in Atlanta spending a fair amount of time drinking and talking crap with Schlep (keys, guitar, singing) and Matt (guitars, singing). Running out of excuses to congregate without the ladies, Schlep suggests “getting the band back together again”—this time as a quintet. After getting kicked out of their rehearsal space at the Black Box (it wasn’t just them, we swear) the band decides to turn the upstairs of Jason’s garage in Grant Park into the 239-square-foot Rock Factory of its collective dreams.
And that is where get small makes the music you hear today. To describe the songs as anything more than ‘rock’ is, in our estimation, to guild the proverbial lily. Probably best you see for yourself…

I'd love to work with y'all in the studio sometime if you ever have an interest in working with a producer. I work with artists at my studio Off the Beat-n-Track or I travel to them.
Thanks for the kind words about Danny and what we are doing with FODfest. I was back down in Atlanta a few weeks ago and happened upon your gig at the Earle, picked up a copy of your CD, and fell in love with the tunes. Keep doing what you're doing and keep me posted of all you're up to.
