Get your name out early!

Like many things in this life the college recruiting is moving faster and faster.  It used to be that an athletes Senior season would have a real impact, at least when it came to earning a scholatship.  That is no longer the case for many sports.  For players looking to become DI football players the Senior year is basically to late.

An old survey showed that about 75% of DI college Football programs would track underclassmen.  I can say with certainty that figure is now 100%.  That being the case you need to have your name in front of th ecollege coaches before you play a single down as a Junior.  Nationally rated prospects were receiving verbal scholarship offers prior to their Junior season.

It is ever more important if you do not live in the recruiting hot beds of Florida, Texas and California.  In fact if you you do not have Sping Football in your home state you are already behind in the process.  While you wait for schools to come see you during the NCAA Spring Evaluation period.  Those same college coaches are actually looking at players 1 year behind you in states with Spring Football.  This means you are 1 year behind in the process when compared to players from those states in your grade.

If you haven't started the work of getting your name out to college coaches...you had better start!
