Well-known in their homeland NZ, the 4-piece made waves that splashed across the oceans to Australia, Japan, Canada and the UK back in 2002/03 with the release of their independently released debut, Good. Now they..re back with a release topped to the hilt with even more cracking synth-rock & hook laden pop tunes, and ready to see as much of the world as possible in 2004/05!
The indie pop rockers had an amazing last year. In short, they toured Japan, played in front of fans across Europe, gave Aussie audiences a quick look at their live show during the Big Day Out, and still managed to spend some quality time at home in their garden shed to record a new album. Yep .. the majority of pre-production and engineering took place in a home studio in Grey Lynn, following in the same tradition of their first release.
Fiji Baby is made up of 11 rich, quirky and fresh-sounding pop tunes that you..ll have no choice but to sing along to. The LP shows a more mature Goodshirt, but they..ve kept a hold of the same energy and fun that we saw on Good .. an album that thrust the band into the spotlight at home, hitting almost double-platinum sales. The single ..Sophie.. won the boys the Single Of The Year at the 2003 NZ Music Awards, and the album also spawned 2 other top 10 Rock Radio singles. All up, the album spent more than 7 months in the Top 50 charts in NZ. To be sure, on Fiji Baby the boys haven..t lost that edge that sees them rival the Dandy Warhols in fuzzy, keyboard-infused fun!

Hey! I'm getting ready to tour with Kevin Montgomery in the UK/Ireland..........and he made a funny video of the guys in the band.......he basically tortures me on the road, and films it........Click here to watch the video.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you soon!!? Shawn
As the owner of a ridiculously limited and redundant wardrobe, I often have a good shirt that everyone wishes they could hide from me and claim that it ran away.
Hi boys. Not sure if you will remember, but you did a gig at The Mill in New Plymouth a couple of years back with Pluto to open. Anyway, I dragged you guys up to the local Karaoke bar after the gig and we all got up and sung "Walkie Talkie Man" When the song was over the MC announced to the punters "That was Walkie Talkie Man, sung by Bex, Milan & the Goodshirt boys". Funny! :-)
