**NEW IN SUMMER '09 *dan&9* are now playing as a Groove Funk duo! Come see us Fri. 8/21 @ Dub Land Underground for $2 from 8pm until 8:45pm! Then, the following Sat. 8/29 @ Boulder Coffee Co. for $5 from 8pm until 9:30pm. Both clubs on Alexander St. Rochester, NY! Mostly original tunes heavily influenced by Dave Matthews, Mike Doughty, and Jack Johnson. PLUS all your *3CF9* favorites!! See you at the end of August!
*3CF9* have been playing music together since June 2004. We have been friends a lot longer so hopefully that helps the music along. We play out a few times a month here in Rochester, NY.
Our Musical Influences are endless and all over the place, such as, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Sublime, Soul Coughing, the oldies, Dispatch, Hip Hop, Radiohead, etc.
Our Sound is unique (we have TWO singers) and is a little funky, a little melodic, a little jammy, and definitely just fun. Not too hard, not too soft, not un-like Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson. The 4 of us really have a blast playing out. We play 3 sets a night, 75% original music, and 25% of our songs are covers by other bands you'll probably recognize.
Our Fans are the best, and very loyal to each place we play. Our email list is larger each month, and free cd's and stickers are always available (we record, and give out all of our shows). Tee-shirts will be around for the summer time. Hope to see you out @ a *3CF9* show very soon!!!!
We've played with and shared stages with several other great acts such as, TWIN-A, Mike Zale, Brent Bond, Dan Alvarez, The Flop, Amanda Rodriguez, Mike LaDue, Sean Fahy, Paper Cut Ninja's, Blue Jimmy, Orchard Drive, and MENISKUS!!!!.
If any of you guys are planning of going to Jazz Fest either weekend stop by the Moving Graffiti Film Festival to see "Without Words" from the Jimmy Mac's DVD showcased with the other films in the festival. Its going to be projected on the side of the Rochester Contemporary Art Gallery (on East Ave) June 8-9 and 15-16 from 8pm-11pm. Check it!

-How do you know *3CF9*? My cuz Mikey gave me a CD of some late 2004 show. I was intrigued by the talent I heard and the awesome songs, so I divulged further into my *3cf9* experience.
In my high school communication class we had to create a logo for anything we wanted to. I saw the guys didnt really have much going on in their PR department, so I wanted to make something up for them, which then turned into a website that never got finished. I started going to shows to meet the guys and fell IN LOVE with the music, and got to know the guys.
I cant go a day without listening to *3CF9*. Its something just about their outlook on life in the songs that speaks to me. They jam, they have fun and their a blast to go see live with a group of friends. Dans style is a little more loose (I wish I could play guitar like him!) and lyrics are hidden, and Adam has a origional finesse to his songs that hit you like a ton of bricks. BV rocks those nasty base lines and 9 keeps up the beat, no matter how long the songs go (Im thinknig Mavens, on the b-day show you were on that cowbell for like 20 min straight haha)
You guys really do fit the bill for the coolest band in the world. Thats why I was so dissapointed when I herd whats going on. But things do happen, and Ill still rock the discs every day . Its been a good time.
-Goin' to the final *3CF9* show on Sat. 11/4??? Ill be there with fucking bells on.
-What's your favorite *3CF9* song, or song we do?? Just as all my other favorite artists, a favorite song comes from the mood Im in. Middle Ground hits me like a ton of bricks because I can relate to the lyrics, but Wating, Without Words, Loose change, Roomate and Paintbrush are my top 5. Mavens Theory was turning into a MONSTER, I really love that song. Silly Me is just plain cool, and Do is the ultimate jam song. Who can forget Circles!! Adam and Dan going back and forth, that was just damn cool.
I guess I just have to say thanks for all the opportunities guys! And keep in touch, were definitially hitting up another show next summer (maybe winter?!?!) and all that good stuff. Talk to yall soon.
Hmmmmmm.... How do I answer those questions. Well I will sum it up wiith 2 letters - BV. Brian is our really good friend, best man in our wedding and how could you not love BV. All I heard about forever is how Brian wanted to play the guitar and one day he did it, then all I heard about was the band you guys started, so being the good friend we are - Cliff and I went and they were great - Alot of energy and great people. We know Dan and Adam from Good Ol' Fridays. And of Course we all hang out at Dave shows or what not. We are going to miss the good times with you guys b/c frankly when you guys play a show or go to a Dave show it's really the only time of the year that EVERYONE is there. We will miss you guys and never forget the energy!!!!
-How do you know *3CF9*?
Answer: Your friend, Katie, introduced me. We work together at 2Vine and I went to a few of your shows and really enjoyed them.
-Goin' to the final *3CF9* show on Sat. 11/4???
Answer: I hope to.
-What's your favorite *3CF9* song, or song we do??
Answer: Without Words. I only have it on a cd thats not the best quality so I'll be looking forward to the free cd's you're handing out.
Sorry to hear about the "breakup". You guys had great talent and its a shame but you've also gotta look out for yourselves. Its been a pleasure listening to you guys!
