3am rocks the blues. They write and perform their own songs amidst a nostalgic selection of re-arranged classics. Brothers Tim and Andy Renton have been playing together, or in separate bands since the 1970’s. In 2004 the two of them started 3am – joined by Chris Parren, keys, Trev Turley on bass, Helen Turner vocals, and her husband Iain on second guitar. Worked hard, had a lot of fun and a reasonable amount of local success – including gigs at Guilfest 2007 and 2008, The Chichester Blues Festival and The 100 Club - until August 2008 when Trev, Iain and Helen split.
Since then the band has had a couple more line-up changes – happily adding Fussi Andeson on bass – and you can currently hear Rhian Sherlynne’s vocals on the two tracks on this page for the next few weeks only - sometime in October 2009 the band hopes to be able to showcase the lady they hope will be able to stay with them for the duration – the fabulous Samantha-antoinette!
Sammy’s spent the past twenty-odd years singing her way around the world – from her roots in Gospel choirs to singing with the likes of Jamiroquai, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Lionel Richie, Richard Ashcroft, Mariah Carey, Blur, Luther Vandross, Gloria Gaynor, Beverley Knight, Puff Daddy, Sam Moore and James Brown – to name just a few…
She says it’s now time for her to take front-of-stage, and let the world know what she’s got. 3am can’t wait to help make that happen!
