About me:
"I WANT TO HELP ACTORS REACH THEIR GOALS. STOP DREAMING IT, COME LIVE IT!"
Steven G. Lowe, Founder, The Actors Room, Southern California
As the Founder of The Actor's Room; Television and Film Workshop, Steven has helped to shape the careers of many notable actors, such as Christopher Warren Jr. (Disney’s “High School Musical”/“Men Of Honor”), Sean Michael Afable (“Akeelah & The Bee”/“Scorpion King”), Steve “Sting” Bordon (WCW Pro Wrestling Icon), musical pop sensation, Monet (“The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”/“Lincoln Heights”), Daniel Curtis Lee (“Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide”/“The Shield”). In addition, he has worked with some of the industry’s top Casting Directors, such as Toni Suttie of Integrity Casting.
As the Co-Founder of Last Chance Productions, Steve has been actively involved as a Creator, Screenwriter and Production Executive since 1997, with projects, such as, the $40MM dollar budgeted film, “The Jungle Price”, scheduled for production in 2010. Before this he applied his creative talents to writing and developing TV/Film/Radio projects. In addition to the many awards he has been given due to his extensive counseling, and humanitarian services, he also won "Gold" at the 168 Hour Film Festival in Los Angeles in 2004 for his dramatic short film entitled "Crash". His various accomplishments make him one of the most highly sought after speakers and acting coaches in the industry!
Why is Steve's approach so unique and effective? Some of the biggest contributing factors are what he has given to the world of acting over the past 10 years, such as, his Breathing Technique, Chemistry Training, Emotional Energy and Character Development. However, what makes him a truly amazing coach is his ability to blend over 20 years experience in the film/television/radio industry with 25 years of counseling at-risk youth and their families (specializing in human behavioral observation). The marriage of these two very diverse fields has yielded a very perceptive and intentional personalization coach.
This diversified background has given Steve an amazing ability to teach acting with a refreshing and honest approach. He has a unique eye for making a scene more realistic and a character's motivation more believable. This is a huge benefit to any actor who can appreciate the process of transforming lines from a script into a strong, believable character choice. If an actor can trust the moment enough to suspend their disbelief, and allow Steve to work with them, they will have the potential to transform a simple or complex script into a powerfully emotive, unforgettable moment! Steve believes an actor’s individual needs, strengths, weaknesses and creative process must be respected. Once this is established, Steve can begin to use his experience, as one of Hollywood's top personalization acting coaches to dramatically enhance any actor's depth and range. Bottom line, "If you’re a good actor, Steve can help you to become GREAT!"
