Influences
The truth is we are influenced by almost every single thing we have ever heard, and we have heard a lot! Our music reflects a variety of musical influences. But the common influence we all share is a daily journey with God, and it is this that has the biggest influence on our sound. Whether we are breaking it down like Vanilla Ice, playing a very "U2ish" lick, a "John Mayer-like" chord progression, something that sounds like it came from 1982, or some straight up classic rock and roll (all of which we do quite often), our lyrics and our lives seek to reflect the amazing, inspiring, never-ending love of God.
Sounds Like
We do whatever we can to make sure you don't listen to us and say, "yeah, they sound like every other Christian worship band." We are huge fans of all types of music, and we try to incorporate a little bit of everything into ours. Most importantly, we want to sound like people who are expressing our genuine encounter with a profoundly amazing, awe-inspring God.
Three Mile Road (formerly Travis Garner's Best Friend's Incredible Talking Donkey Experience) is a praise and worship band, but not your typical praise and worship band. Yeah, we know, that's what everybody says, but we really mean it. We're kind of like B.A.S.F. We don't make a lot of the songs you hear, we make a lot of the songs you hear better. Ha!
Seriously, though, we have a passion for connecting people to the power, awe, and wonder of actively worshipping God, not just through music or singing, but as Romans 12:1 encourages, through living.

I just want to tell you again that I thought you and the band did an excellent job last night All of you also carried yourselves with a level of professionalism and class that is seldom seen in average bands. Kudos to you, too, for not dumbing down the things you had to say from the mic...hmmmm, what a novel concept! Seriously, I expected nothing less, but I just wanted you and the group to know that I noticed your intent to be different from the norm in content and presentation, and I appreciate it. I wish all of our youth could be led in worship by people who are willing to lead with sensitivity and musical excellence.

ah! I missed you guys this year at warmth in winter! We went on a trip the first weekend of January up in Beersheba Springs (been there?) and then I went on Chrysalis over Martin Luther king weekend (know what Chrysalis is?) So we didn't get enough info about WIW in time, and it just didn't work out for us! Hopefully I'll see you soon! Keep me posted fo any upcoming shows 'round here! My prayers were with you however, and I know that you really touched lives & changed hearts with your music! Keep doing that; you rock at it guys!
