Band MembersJonathan Sprang
Lead Vocals/Acoustic Guitar

Jonathan Sprang, 25, has been writing songs since early on in his life. He began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and stopped private lessons at the age of 17. The summer before his senior year of high school he became the lead singer for a band called Soul Sacrifice and sang with them till he graduated. Towards the end of that school year, the spring of 1998, he picked up his dad's guitar, which had been sitting in a closet for years, and began trying it out. He recieved instruction from friends and taught himself the rest by looking up chords/tabs on the internet and watching Dave Matthews play live. While in college at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, he played for many of the events at the school, on and off campus. In 2002 he began working as a Worship Pastor at PowerLine Church in Burlington, NC. He loves the acoustic sound and enjoys writing the soaring melodies to the songs of 3 Miles. His primary musical influences are Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Michael Logen and Abner Ramirez.

Larry Rogers
Lead Guitar

Adam Ziarnik
Bass Guitar

Adam Ziarnik, 23, has been playing bass for 7 yrs. Adam is self taught, having honed his skills playing in a church band for his first 3 yrs as a bassist. In 2001 he toured with Arc, a Grand Rapids, MI, based group for 6 months. After touring, he spent two yrs in San Diego, where he married his wife, Lisa, who was also a member of Arc. Although native to Detroit, he and his wife now make Greensboro, NC, home. He joined 3 Miles From Sunday in April '05. Adam lends himself to providing melodic, riff-based sounds to underscore the ethereal music of 3 Miles From Sunday. His primary musical influences include Sister Hazel, Waterdeep and Blues Traveler.

Paul Chambless
Drums

Paul Chambless, founding member of 3 Miles From Sunday, is 21 years old, he has been playing drums/percussion for over 11 years. Paul began taking lessons at the age of ten. He continued taking lessons privately until age 12 when he enter middle school and began learning in band classes. Throughout his young life music and drumming took a large potion of his time. Throughout all four years of High School Paul was a predominant member of his marching band and more specifically the drum line Blue Steel, giving Paul a rhythmic cadence feel to his playing. Also while in high school Paul performed and recorded with his brother, Josh Chambless, and Joshs friend Tim Stanley, who taught Paul a lot about playing softly but still skillfully. They could be seen anywhere from Raleigh to Boone and points between. Currently Paul is a student at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville TN. Paul is a music bussiness major and plans on continueing into a career in music when he graduates. Pauls musical influences include: Barry Manilow, Marc Scholl, Carter Beauford, Russ McKinnnon, Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, Linkin Park, U2, Jars of Clay, Sting, John Mayer, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, The Beatles, The Monkees, Gran Torino, Hootie and The Blow Fish, Josh Chambless, Tim Stanley, Jonathan Larson, Barenaked Ladies, Matchbox Twenty and Pearl Jam. Pauls driving forces behind playing are: his parents, his brother, God, Chris, Leslie, and Chris.

InfluencesDave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Ray Charles, Harry Connick, Jr., B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, Abner Ramirez, Michael Logen, Albert King, Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton...
Sounds LikeA real eclectic blend of sounds. They take everything from heavy metal distortion to old school funk, and do it raw with an acoustic guitar and a blues-influenced lead. They have a very unique sound worth checking out.
