3rdSide Bio
Once or twice in a decade, a musical force struggles to be heard, and rises above the norm. A unique blend of many genres, crossing over generations with roots in many different cultures, we present to you for this decade, the music of 3rdSide.
3rdSide is best described as purely eclectic . Rock/ blues/ pop/ reggae/ ballads/ instrumentals and island genres are all found within The Sunroom Sessions, their immensely successful 13-track album. Vocals, strings, songs, and recordings are orchestrated by Derek Windle, founding member and front man for 3rdSide Productions. After a 3-year collaboration between various artists, venues, shows and recordings, 3rdSide evolved into a dynamic mix of acoustic and electric sounds, underlining them with thought-provoking lyrics and interwoven melodies. Musicians also change and evolve, however, and eventually the four members of the band went their separate ways and Derek went solo.
This is normally where the story ends, but it’s actually where this one begins.
Derek moved his acoustic 3rdSide to New Hampshire and is in the process of resurrecting the 3rdSide electric band. Joining him in this endeavor is percussionist Tom Maxfield, adding a dynamic mix of Djembe, rock drums and other percussion instruments to the 3rdSide sound and Kevin Hughes on bass.
3rdSide’s solo credits include television and radio performances, internet play, compilation CDs, live shows, website music development, recording, and production. The response to Derek's very entertaining shows has been overwhelming; clearly defining the desire of the listening audience for songwriting talent and performance. So take a minute to get acquainted with the future of rock n roll. Step out and...
