3Wire was formed in June 2000 by Dave Hanley, Paul Geppert, and Bryan Eberhard. Hanley played guitar, Geppert also played guitar and Eberhard played stand up bass. After about a year, Bryan moved to Wyoming leaving the band without a bass player. Luckily, the band found Bob Shaffer and 3Wire stayed in tact. The band slowly built a reputation and began playing more and more at local restaurants, bars, and private functions, as well as playing at festivals like Art in the Park and Music on the Green. As the band has progressed so has the style of music they play. When they started Hanley and Geppert both played guitar almost exclusively but now they both have two instruments in their arsenal (Paul-Mandolin, Dave-Banjo). The boys recently finished their album "The Long Trail" and have began to spread out of Routt County, playing festivals through out the state, but dont worry, you can still find them around town.
