Being classically trained I never thought I would end up in a Hard Rock band, but I love it!
I have been known to play the odd bit of piano, my next instrument purchase will be a digital piano, coz I am sick of not having one at home.
I am a sucker for a good wine, and have a soft spot for V8s. (although I am too poor to own one, haha) There is nothing better than good times with good friends. "Don't abandon your dreams because of those who lack the vision."

ISHTAR are an Auckland, NZ-based hard rock group. A female fronted wall of sound balancing aural high drama verging on the cinematic with big stadium-esque riffs and a lexicon & virtuosity on par with any prog rockers, Ishtar are one of Auckland’s best live rock acts. A melting pot of a great many influences from Rock’s songbook (especially the chapters on stadium rockers Led Zeppelin, Queen, Van Halen, Gothic-leaning bands Evanescence and Nightwish, classic metal bands Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden and prog rockers Dream Theater, Faith No More, Muse and Rush) Ishtar plunder freely putting their modern spin on whatever they touch.
Originally formed in 2000, Ishtar are currently in their third incarnation- Mk-3 (version 4) having its genesis in 2003. Ishtar have recorded a lot of demo material, released a debut EP (South of Sanity- Ishtar (nz) Music -2006) scored radio airplay on a number of stations around NZ, been included on Reconstruction, a NZ unsigned artists Tsunami charity CD, done soundtrack work & played countless shows including a half hour set to a packed out Aotea square on new years eve.
Keep an eye out for us on the road very soon, for our upcoming video release, the (long delayed) release of the Ishtar Army giveaway ep ‘Ambigram’ (coming soon!) & impending commercial follow up release to South of Sanity (proposed for early 2008).
