About 40+40 Fest
40 Days + 40 Nights(An Arts and Culture Explosion) is packed full of regional Arts and Culture Events beginning October 1st - November 9th. The kick-off weekend begins with the Roanoke Arts Festival: City Soul! October 1 - 4. The "explosion" is the one year anniversary of the opening of the Taubman Museum of Art.
About The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge
The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge was established in 1976 with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to promote the arts in the Roanoke Valley and provide services to local cultural groups. Throughout the decades, The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge has provided proactive leadership in which to maintain and strengthen the cultural activities of southwest Virginia.
The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge provides programs and services to 120 member organizations and more than 260 individual artists of all artistic disciplines. Programs and services include a regional cultural calendar, arts education programs, arts management workshops for member organizations and individual artists, directories and cultural tourism initiatives.
