40 Years Later and Big Beard Records have dedicated 600 copies of their new CD, Sailing Away to Kingston, to help raise money for a charitable organization in Huejutla, Hidalgo, Mexico.
The folks down there are working on a project that will improve the lives of thousands of people in their city who cook their meals over wood fires. The short description is that they are giving the people cooking devices that vent the wood smoke to the outside of the house, so it’s not breathed by everyone inside the house.
Each of these cookers costs US$18, and they’re trying to raise enough money, initially, for 1000 of them. One thousand households means several thousand people whose lives will be made better by this program.
So, we will sell each CD for US$10, plus US domestic shipping/handling of US$3 (US$6 for foreign orders). Big Beard Records and 40 Years Later will then donate 50% of the sales price (US$5 per CD, up to 600 CDs) to the project in Huejutla. This offer applies only to CDs purchased directly from the band, the record label, or Big Red Productions, either by check/money order or via PayPal.
