  • Bio

Howdy, Friends & Neighbours! Thanks a lot for visiting our profile and to the samples of our new record "Don't just breathin' nown my neck!", released 2010 at rhythm bomb records. In fact, it is the first record, I've ever made though I am playing old style music since I was 16. I was always into Swing, Rhythm & Blues, Rockabilly and Jive -- until I got a record of Bob Wills a few years ago. Western Swing. Hmmmm! I fell in love with that kind of music right from the start. So guess what this band's about? It's Texas music. Songs about paintin' the town, drinking, dancing, cutting loose, living -- and a lot of songs about happy or unhappy love. Western Swing arose in the 1930s, merging the influences of cowboy style, Hillbilly music, and Big Band jazz. You can even hear influences of blues and black music. The playing was hot, but the music was about dancing first and foremost -- the Depression was fading away along with Prohibition, and people wanted to cut loose and celebrate. Some of the pioneering Western Swing groups were Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Milton Brown and the Musical Brownies, Hank Penny, Spade Cooley, Tex Williams, Pee Wee King, Merle Travis and many more. But by the 1950s, Western Swing's initial heyday was over. So now -- 60 years later -- I am very glad that I have met Albert, Martin, Klaus and Udo who love Western Swing just like I do and we are to bring back Western Swing again. Thanks, guys for being my friends. We are really having a great time! And I am very glad, that you -- yes, YOU who is listening now -- are part of a new generation to spread the word how great Western Swing music is.
