About me:
SAVOV is an artistic pseudonym to which in the Ministry of Culture of Republic Bulgaria responds the name of Petko Savchev Savov.
Petko Savov was born on 13th January 1981 in the town of Svishtov. He spent several years moving from one town to another. He lived in Peshtera, Sofia, and even in the picturesque mountainous town of Elena for a year. In 1988, he settled in Veliko Tarnovo. After his preparation in the musical class of Emilian Stanev School /V.Tarnovo/ with special studying of classic guitar in Nikolai Minev’s class, in 2004 he successfully graduated from Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, bachelor’s degree in Music Teaching Pedagogy, again with classic guitar as a main subject.
At university, he studied guitar in Zhecho Enchev’s class. Together with the classic guitar, SAVOV paid serious attention to harmony, orchestration, arrangement, and polyphony.
During his teaching practice, he made entirely new arrangements to songs studied and sung in music classes at secondary school.
He improved his piano technique which he had begun to study compulsorily as early as at secondary school. Very important role in his education at the University of Veliko Tarnovo SAVOV gave to his work on vocal setting and he improved his singing qualities with the help of Srebra Mihaleva.
For some time, SAVOV went to Rumina Children’s Pop-Music Studio in Veliko Tarnovo where he sang pop and jazz.
Very useful were to him the lectures of the popular Bulgarian folklorist and composer Petar Lyondev. Along with folklore, SAVOV also studied the details of the art of composing.
In 2007, he acquired a master’s degree in Mass Communications and Journalism at Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. While studying, SAVOV worked for a while for the Veliko Tarnovo radio station of Favorit.
In 2008, SAVOV got a graduation certificate from Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo for completed education in Programme Environments for Sound Information Processing.
In 2008, SAVOV finished a master class in classic guitar with teacher Stela Miteva-Dinkova/ Academy for music, dancing, and fine arts in the city of Plovdiv/.
In the same year he was admitted as a tenor choir singer in the mixed Veliko Tarnovo choir Kantilena with a director Aneta Pavlova.
In the same year, after successfully defended knowledge, SAVOV got a certificate from Intelekti Professional Training Center.
SAVOV is a member of the prestige bards’ movement, more popular in Bulgaria as Poets with Guitars. The creative meetings and the festivals of the bards in Harmanli, Kazanlak, Lovech, Shumen, Nessebar and Sofia are also the stage where SAVOV presents as a premiere and wholly acoustically all his new songs.
