    .. "As a pianist, I am very inspired by...singing! Artists like Ray Charles and Aretha who come from the church and play and sing equally well are my biggest influences. I like to use the piano to have a dialogue with singers and other musicians. When I was young I liked the way pianos sound and feel so much that I learned to tune and repair them. But what really excites and attracts me in music is the magic of the groove, whether it's Boogie Woogie, Funk, New Orleans or Nigerian Afrobeat." - Sherry Margolin .... .. Sherry has always rejected predictable and obvious paths. She grew up near Boston and began playing piano at the age of six. When she was ten, she started her older brother ..Bob Margolin.. playing guitar. Academically, artistically, and musically gifted, she graduated from high school at 16, but left home for the San Francisco Bay Area instead of going to college. During that period, watching Bob playing guitar in the Muddy Waters Blues Band, she had a front-row seat for the deepest and best of Chicago Blues. .. .. Since 1983, she's lived near Paris with Highlife and Afrobeat percussionist, singer, and bandleader ..Chief Udoh Essiet.. and their son Uwem, born in 1994. Her improbable and unusual journey has even provided her with the opportunity to tour as a pianist in Europe with numerous Gospel choirs and groups, the fulfillment of a dream. She's a fine arranger, producer, singer, and bandleader as well... .. With Chief Udoh Essiet, Sherry has collaborated on Afrobeat Blaster's No Condition Is Permanent (1991) and Time For Highlife (1999). They are currently working on his next CD. She was featured on piano on Bob Margolin's song "Consolation" from his Hold Me To It CD (1999), and has performed with him in Europe and the United States. .. .. .... .. Sur scène avec mon piano, mon style est d’instaurer un dialogue musical avec les chanteurs et les autres musiciens. Jeune, j’ai tant aimé la sonorité et le toucher des pianos que je me suis formée pour les accorder et réparer. Mais la chose qui m'excite vraiment et m'attire le plus est la magie du rythme, quel que soit le genre musical : Boogie Woogie, Funk, musique de la Nouvelle Orléans ou Afrobeat du Nigéria." - Sherry Margolin .... .. Sherry a toujours refusé les chemins balisés. Elle a grandi à Boston et joue du piano depuis l'âge de six ans. À dix ans, elle a assisté à l’éclosion du talent de guitariste de son frère aîné ..Bob Margolin... Académiquement, artistiquement et musicalement douée, elle a terminé ses études au lycée à 16 ans, mais a quitté Boston pour la région de San Francisco plutôt que d’entrer à l'université. Pendant cette période, elle a eu une chance inespérée : assister au premier rang aux concerts du grand Bluesman Muddy Waters, auxquels son frère Bob participait comme guitariste. C’était la crème de la crème du Blues de Chicago, et une très bonne école. .. .. Depuis 1983, elle vit près de Paris avec ..Chief Udoh Essiet.., le percussionniste, chanteur, chef d’orchestre et maître du Highlife et de l’Afrobeat nigérian. Leur fils Uwem est né en 1994. Le parcours improbable et original de Sherry lui a même fourni l'occasion de réaliser son rêve : tourner comme pianiste à travers l’Europe avec de nombreux groupes de Gospel... .. Elle a également exercé les métiers d’arrangeur, productrice, chanteuse et chef d’orchestre, sans omettre sa collaboration avec Chief Udoh Essiet sur les CD’s du dernier « Afrobeat Blaster : No Condition Is Permanent » (1991) et « Time For Highlife » (1999) Ils travaillent actuellement au prochain album de Chief Udoh Essiet. Avec Bob Margolin, elle a participé comme pianiste à la chanson « Consolation » incluse dans son CD « Hold Me To It » (1999) et s’est produite avec lui lors de concerts en Europe et aux Etats-Unis. .. ..
