I'm also a bit of a groupie when it comes to The Rumour Mill, check them out in my Friends list! They're a totally awesome band from Kiama in New South Wales, Australia and they rock! Of course it doesn't hurt being friends with the lead singer... James, you rock star!!
Movies
I love comedies, thrillers and action movies. Also a lot of the animated kids movies that are coming out at the moment are awesome. I've really enjoyed recently:

* Matthew Perry
* Morgan Freeman
* Mike Meyers

Television
I like way too much TV but I barely ever get to watch it! Some of the shows I love to watch when I can are:
Top Gear, Good News Week, Women's Murder Club, Mythbusters, CNNNN, Supernatural, Veronica Mars, Charmed, Medium, Futrama, Inuyasha, Law and Order: SVU, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Numb3rs, NCIS, The Chasers War, The OC, Daria, CSI:Miami, Rove Live, Without A Trace, Friends, The Glass House, Spicks and Specks, Thank God You're Here, Stargate:SG1, McLeods Daughters, Home and Away, Garfield, The Simpsons, Futrama, Big Brother, Bones, Home and Away, Absolutely Fabulous, Archie, How I Met Your Mother, That 70's Show and Neighbours.
I'm a bit of a Friends fanatic and know pretty much everything there is to know about them and have watched it all a million times. I love watching Spick and Specks, Adam Hill is hilarious and they have some awesome guests (Ross Noble, Akmal, Frank Woodley, Hamish Blake (yummy..), Josh Thomas (also yummy and very cute) have been the best and most amusing!) Right now the shows I am probably watching the most are Top Gear, Good News Week, Women's Murder Club, Supernatural, Spicks and Specks, Numb3rs and The Chasers War (watching the old ones through podcasts because I needed a Chaser fix!)
Books
I love to read! Some of my favourites are:
* The Vanishing Man - Jeffery Deaver
* The Blue Nowhere - Jeffery Deaver
* 1st To Die - James Patterson (and the others in the Women's Murder Club series!)
* Visible Panty Line by Gretel Kileen
* Serving Curry With Crazy by Amulya Mallad
* Mad About The Boy by Maggie Aldersen
* Anything written by Patricia Cornwall, Kathy Reichs or Agatha Christie!
At the moment I am reading:
* Hit by Tara Moss
* Architecture of the Islamic World edited by George Michell
Heroes
* Patricia Cornwall - I love her books, she's awesome! It's fantastic that she puts forward such a strong female role-model in Scarpetta and she manages to write about such horrible crimes without it being overly gruesome.
* Kathy Reichs - Ditto from above! I also find her characters much more enjoyable that PC's, I love reading about the interaction between Tempe and Ryan and I think she just writes so amazingly well.
* Julia Gillard - Yay! We need more women in politics!
* Aretha Franklin - The Queen of Soul, she's someone I would adore to meet, she's just fantastic. Beautiful voice, beautiful person.
* Layne Beachley - Australia's own ironwoman, I just think she's one of the most amazing women there is. I've been following her career since I was a little girl and I've always found her so inspirational and awe-inspiring.
* Kelly Slater - Love the guy, love the surfer. Not only is he totally spunky but he is the world's most awesome surfer!!
* And lastly, it's cliche I know but my mum! Anyone who raised me has to be a pillar of strength really. More and more lately, I realise how amazing strong she is. She's taken a pretty big risk in her life and I think (I hope) it's paying off for her even if I do find it a bit sad.
About me: Well let's see...another depressingly blank white space to fill in with information about me.
My name is Nikki, I come from Mars. Well not really, I live in Queensland in Australia. And no, I do not have a pet koala, nor do I particularly like vegemite and yes, my head hurts because I'm always standing upside down!
I enjoy playing tennis, doing yoga and going to the beach. I've always lived within walking distance of nice beaches, so I've grown up trying almost every beach related activity there is. I love playing beach volleyball, jet-skiing, water-skiing, surfing, snorkelling and swimming. At the moment I'm competing in both volleyball and doing swim meets. Kind of hoping to get into Tennis again but I've been a bit slack about calling up the courts.
I love music of all types. I can normally find a song for every mood I have and it always lifts me up when I'm not feeling so great. I took music classes for every school I went too, as well as piano, clarinet and voice lessons. All sorts of music has been an inspiration to me, from the really RnB or poppy stuff, to alternate rock, to some country type music and even some of heavier metal stuff. I'm also a big fan of some of the classics, I love jazz and the big band stuff. I want to meet Aretha Franklin and tell her she's amazing!
I also enjoy dancing and have done several types of dance classes (Ballet, jazz, salsa and ballroom) but I find with some of the newer stuff I stop dancing and start singing...which really isn't good when I'm out clubbing!
My friends are the most important thing in my life and there is pretty much nothing I wouldn't do for them. Part of life means having friends move, which most of my friends did for Uni or work but it's been a good experience to sort of try out some new things. However I've been been playing beach volleyball with some of my friends who still live in the city and taken up swimming again! And I'm always interested in trying new things and meeting new people.
The other thing to probably mention is my complete and utter obsession with Imperian. I have several characters now because I love to experiment with different classes and roles and it's been really fun!
Ok, I think that should about cover it for now. I have a feeling other stuff will come up in these question thingies.
Who I'd like to meet: Hrm, interesting people would be nice. People who are also addicted to Imperian or at least play. Cool bands from Australia! People I used to know! People I should know in the future, hehe.
I'd also love to meet:
* James May (And maybe Richard Hammond!)
* Jansen Ackles (totally yummy!)
* Edwin McCain and Gavin DeGraw (well at least go to see him play live!)
* Andrew Hansen and Chris Taylor from the Chaser! Or maybe just all the Chaser boys!
* Jim Morrison
* Aretha Franklin
* Tom!! And Tanya! And Matt and Ann! And John! And the other John and Franz!! And Jess!! And lots of people...this may end up getting too long, so I'll just shush.

With the most important election to be held on Saturday, 24 November as Australians we all need to decide what our future will be. Do we want to live in a country where under John Howard there is the haves and the have nots? We need to have a society where respect and equality is paramount. This is the egalitarian qualities Australia as a young country created.
On Saturday, 24 November vote Labor in the House of Representatives, and equally important vote 1 for Labor above the line on your Senate ballot paper.
