About me:
In the heart of Southeast Portland, tucked in the side of the historic red-brick Logus building, thrives this great little place called The Side Door.
Let me tell you about it.
In 2005, the Moles family decided to try something a little different, rented out the spot and set their plan in motion. Taking the space back to it's original charm took a lot of hard work and elbow grease, but the outcome has been well worth it. Given a chance to start fresh one beautiful January morning in 2006, The Side Door made it's debut and has since become that secret that nobody wants to keep, a quaint nexus for the local community and beyond.
Featuring exposed brick and original hardwoods for a cozy yet stylish atmosphere, we have created the perfect spot where coffee-shop meets cafe, study-lounge meets bar... and just about anything can happen.
With ingredients that are kept as fresh and as local as possible, not to mention the generous helpings, you can't order wrong. We serve bagels, salads, sandwiches, pasta or dinner specials every night and breakfast on the weekends. Fresh soup made from scratch!
And if you’re vegetarian or vegan, have no fear!, we've got something for everyone.
Thirsty yet?
Sip from our selection of ten great beers on tap, more in bottles, wines by the glass, or if you're feeling fancy, a fresh squeezed mimosa.
...Wait, there's more! We also offer an array of local liquors, as well as some of your classic favorites, and have dreamt up some refreshing, tipsy treats for you to drink. Check out our daily drink special board when you come in!
In tune with our goal to support local businesses, The Side Door continues to proudly serve Mt. Hood Roasters coffee and espresso, Viso, Broadway Bagels, and Grand Central bread.
Looking for some casual entertainment?
Every first Friday we host an art opening for our Artist of the Month, with a usual musical appearance. Sometimes we even have local musicians play for us on random nights, so keep checking in!
On the quieter side of things, our free Wi-Fi, Pinball and occasional game & movie nights are bound to entice you at some point.
Don't fight the urge, just come play!
