    Get involved!! Send your us details about your campaigns, demonstrations, protests and outreach events. We'll post them, help as best we can, or give advice on how to proceed. The OADL community is all for peaceful demonstration and outreach, but sometimes the animal exploiters need to get rattled to stop what they are doing. Don't be afraid to get loud or make our presence known. Billions of animals are slaughtered needlessly every year. We have to ask ourselves how we would act if that dog in the laboratory or that chicken in the battery cage was our pet. We must be the voice of the voiceless! We need to fight on their behalf! OADL is compiling an email list so we can send out action alerts for future demos. If you would like to be on this list email us at ottawaanimaldefenseleague@hotmail.com. About me:

The Ottawa Animal Defense League (OADL) is a grassroots animal rights/liberation community working to end animal exploitation and abuse. Community outreach, networking, public education, vocal demonstrations, and civil disobedience are tactics used by activists to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. OADL has no leaders and no official members. OADL is an online resource to bring activists together and promote their events. All efforts to liberate animals and stop animal exploitation are supported, so send us your events or protests and we'll be sure to post them and lend a hand.

The majority of North America's cheap fur comes from farms just like this, where animals are packed into cages, beaten and skinned while fully conscious. When you shop don't trust the labels! Look closely and be sure that's not real fur trim. If it is real, don't buy it!

Quebec Foie Gras Cruelty

Global Action Network has released horrific video footage of Canada's largest foie gras producer -- Elevages Perigord. Using hidden camera equipment, their investigator filmed as workers pulled heads off of live ducks; smashed ducks into floors and walls; and punched and kicked the terrified birds.

In the last few weeks of their lives, ducks raised for foie gras are confined in cages unable to move. Each day they have metal rods forced down their throats and are force fed up to 1/3 of their body weight. This is to disease their liver and make it 10 times its normal size. This is foie gras, a delicacy of despair.

This is why we fight for the animals. Let's stop this cruelty!! Never let someone pass you wearing fur without handing them a leaflet or telling them about the horrors of this industry. If you need to, speak up! Make them listen to you. Dont' shop at stores that sell fur, & be sure to tell them why. Educate, leaflet, protest, get active..

    Hello ~ thank you for being a friend of Moonwarriors. 800 dogs & cats are killed every hour in the US, often by inhumane methods such as gassing or heart sticking. This cruel disposal of homeless & stray animals is paid for by your taxes. Sponsors of petitions promoting no-kill alternatives have shown that it would be more cost effective & humane to fund spay-neuter programs, adoption schemes & sanctuaries.
