About me:
I'm a mother of four grownish daughters, a happy American expat living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the author of the forthcoming book, The New Global Student: Skip the SAT, Save Thousands on Tuition, and Get a Truly International Education. (Crown/Three Rivers division of Random House, in bookstores May 19th, 2009!)
There's a bold new breed of American student these days, and they're getting a ragin' education on campus, online, on the road, and on their terms and time lines. They've ditched the old four-by-four model (four years of high school followed by four years of college) in order to blast forward.
Bold schoolers are graduating from college at 20 with outrageous global experience, fluency in a foreign language(or two or three), sizzling 21st century skills, flaming enthusiasm, a blazing sense of direction, a big grin--and no debt. Seriously.
Goodbye, Old School.
