I like all kinds of music, including pop and even country, but classical music is my favorite by far. My favorite movie is usually the last one that I went to see..lol. Seriously, though, my tastes in movies are a little old fashioned. Most of the movies made today, I consider to be very mediocre. I like to watch TCM and I thought that the last Batman movie was good. I hate Judd Aptow comedies. Some of my favorite movies are also foreign with subtitles. I remember seeing the Italian movie Umberto D as a young boy and I cried and could not sleep that night after seeing it. The Seventh Seal is one of my favorite movies of all time. My reading preferences are current affairs magazines. I love books on history and science. I love history....of any time or any place. I have a particular interest in American history and I also keen on the history of the Crusades and the history on the Eastern Front in WW2. I love to read books on science and I must admit that I am fascinated in the theory of intelligent design. I do not dismiss it as hokum.
I should also point out that while I am very eclectic in terms of my musical interests, in that I enjoy listening to to most types of music from time to time including jazz, country music, big band music, torch songs, pop music of all decades...and some...emphasis...on some...heavy metal and rap....I have have found that I will never have any emotional connection with anyone who does not like Bach, Mozart and Beethoven....all of whom I IDOLIZE.
In my opinion the best version of this classic tale, featuring a galaxy of British stars in early roles.
Presented for your consideration this Christams season. Alistair Sim was the best Scrooge ever. The film can be seen in installments in its entirety on You Tube
About me: Witty, smart as a whip, loyal, generous to a fault and incredibly romantic...but enough of what others say about me. I would just say that I am not such a bad fellow once you get to know me. My interests include reading (I am bit of bookworm), movies, going to the theater or a concert once in a while and week-end get aways are always nice. I like lively conversation with a person who has a wide range of interests, including current events etc. I am practicing Roman Catholic but not dogmatic. I am essentially a very optimistic person sometimes given to melancholia. I am very supportive and look for the good in any situation no matter how dark the moment.
I have been separated for several years after my wife left me. I have come here to My Space because I am been a recluse too long and I want to share the experiences of other people whom I would not otherwise meet. IN THE MEANTIME--MERRY CHRISTMAS
My gosh...that was not fair. Sean Avery only got suspended for six games and what he did was much more injurious to the moral fabric of this great nation. LOL
