Deathead was formed in March 2001 by guitarist/vocalist Chris Jester in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. Originally born under the name Tantrum it was quickly changed upon finding another band with the same name. .. After a failed start with an unstable lineup Chris relocated the band back to Ogden, Utah and hooked up with bassist Mat Smith. Together the two have been the nucleus holding the band together, with Mat even taking a leave of absence for a short period of time. .. The band went thru many many lineup changes over the years. Including what many consider to the first and one of the most successful lineups, being Chris, Mat, Kelly Jester on guitar and Felipe Martinez on drums. Together this lineup recorded the Architect of Armageddon ep. .. After many shows the lineup soon had problems. Kelly left the band and Felipe left the country... Many members came and went until the band hooked up with guitarist Brandon "Dino" Larson, whom Chris and Mat had played with in the early 90's in Gallows Pole, and who is also currently a member of The Fuzz Plugz. Together with a studio drummer the band began recording the new album that would be An Offering to the Gods which was released on July 7, 2009. .. At the moment the band is seeking a permanent drummer to begin playing live. There are several candidates but no one has been confirmed at this time.
