About me:

I've taught as a modern language teacher for 20 years, but have always enjoyed writing - primarily short, fantasy stories for children, but in the past few years I've also discovered the joys of writing poetry for adults - and my first two books are collections of poetry. If you click on the Bookbuzzr widgets below, you'll be able to read extracts from my books, reviews, media mentions, purchasing information and much more. Enjoy! =============================================================================================================================================

Family and More - Enemies or Friends?

My second book "Family and More" was inspired by my mixed German/English background. The message is: "Every encounter we have in life can be a force for good and, if we see with the heart, we'll know that only man-made differences divide us." Available at present as an ebook but due to come out soon as a paperback - SO WATCH THIS SPACE!

It's a Teacher's Life...!

This is my first book: a collection of anecdotes and character sketches written in free verse, based on my own experiences as a teacher in a girls' school in the UK, although many of the poems are relevant to all teachers, no matter where they teach. Designed to entertain but also to question the ethos behind our present education system.

This page of mine is a long story. The account was created in 2007 and not activated. Then it was lost in the system. Until a few months ago. While in August 2009, my writing took on a new evolution. Perhaps jumping up a level. Of which I began an experiment and a personal study of songs and lyrics.

The big question remains. As to if my lyrical writing are songs or poems without music. ...........I just write differently. In what could be come songs, if there was ever any possible option for that to come to pass

I also enjoy this form of writing and I found I like song lyrics far better than I ever liked poems (I really do not like much in poetry. I just found that was an outlet to write and express myself ) I don't write poems. Poems compose me ..

Your welcome, Helena. Its nice to meet someone who had done what I wanna do and is at where I wanna be at.  I wrote and illustrated two of the books I am working on, but now I just need to find a publisher. My children's stories are for younger children probably ages 3 to 10. Not sure, because I never thought about what kind of children. LOL, I just know I wanted children to enjoy it and enjoy learning.

    Angelina

Thank you, Angelina, for your comment - how nice to meet someone with the same writing interests as my own: poetry and children's stories. Are your children's stories also picture books/early readers or are they for older children?  You're right when you say we should appreciate just being alive, being able to experience our bodies and the wonder of being able to breathe in and out, for example.

    All the best
