About me: Ingrid Chiemi Schroffner ("Chiemi") was born on Halloween 1970 in Hawaii. She has been in Massachusetts since 1988, when she moved here for college. She plays music under her middle name, Chiemi --in Japanese meaning "one who is blessed." Chiemi has an interest in telling stories which stems, in part, from her East/West heritage, work on folktales as an undergraduate and is further carried out in her daytime profession as an advocate.
Chiemi hosts the monthly Somerville News Music/Poetry Series and writes a music events/reviews column for the News called "Chiemi's Corner." For past articles and information about the Series see http://www.aalam.org/chiemi/corner.shtml
In 2005, Chiemi released "Living on 2 Coasts." The CD is available at the BC Bookstore, Newbury Comics and CD Spins. It is also available on CDBaby.com and Amazon.com. "Living on Two Coasts," the title song off the album, is the theme song for a monthly television show on the Boston Neighborhood Network, which addresses needs and issues pertaining to Asian-Americans and the community. http://www.visual-voice.com/BNN/serieswindow.asp?series=18

She has also opened for the Paula Kelley Orchestra. She thanks her family and friends for their incredible Aloha and support, loves to hear new and original music as well as share ideas/stories with others and welcomes folks to visit her website-- www.ChiemiMusic.com.
