Through the minds eye
There is a place in my mind that I can see even now. It is one of great beauty. I was 19 and was station in the military in Germany . They sent my team as a support unit to the units training for reforger. They dropped 5 of us off in a small German town and put us up in a small hotel. Its December there’s 3
feet of snow everywhere. The locals are getting ready for Christmas. No one speaks English and I only know a few words of broken German. The quaint houses are the backdrop of and Christmas village. It was as if I had been dropped off on another planet. The peace and tranquility that we invaded was almost alien. But who was the alien, me or them.
Such beauty.
