In the late 90..s members from the bands Big Fish, Fuzzdevil and Mother Superior got together and recorded a 8-track demo in a basement in Uppsala, Sweden. The tracks were most instrumentals, very hard, very loud, very punk, but not that “Stoner-rock”, because back in those days “Stoner-rock” was not established fully.
454 became the name for the new constellation and first it was meant that original guitarist Anders Stub was to do the lead vocals but that didn..t happen. One late night down at the local bar orginal guitarist no2, Tomas Gustavsson (second name Rudström when married to Anders sister Vanja in 2003), ran into Anders E Rudström. Anders E.R, known as leadsinger in local acts as Ahimsa and Ded Zeb, convinced Tomas that he deliver just what 454 needed in terms of a lead vocalist. And here we go, the first line up for the recording of what would become the double seveninch “Free ticket to the rumble”:

Henrik Lindahl, lead singer from Fuzzdevil, got 454 a deal to record for two days down at the Swedish national radio studio in Uppsala.
“Maybe Legendary”, a 7-track 12inch, was recorded with a mobile studiobus, again together with Henrik Lindahl and Stefan Norgren, the owner of the bus. The recording of “Maybe..” took place at the home of Sigrid Gustavsson, Tomas grandmother, in Rosendal, Tuna, Hillbilly countryside outside Uppsala.
The third release, “Satanic Widescreen”, the only 454 release on cd, was recorded at the BeatProphet studio in Uppsala, together with Olof Olofsson. Anders Stub left the band and was replaced by Peter Rudström on guitar.
Through the years 454 have played many gigs around Sweden and on the 16th of may the band will perform to celebrate 10 years together. It might be the last gig ever with 454 so be sure not to miss it!

John's Candy har under två år stått och gormat så högt det bara går på de allra roligaste klubbarna i Stockholm.
