About me:
My name is Lara. Most of you know me from either seeing me a concert, that psycho chick who loves Megadeth, that girl from Guitar Center, or that girl who works at Club Red.
About a year ago, I joined this business "officially" by starting out as an intern at Club Red and Red Owl in Tempe, AZ where I learned and practiced booking, promoting, financing, maintaining, and running local, regional and nation shows. I've done events from a simple, but amazing indie rock night all the way to a sold out Dokken show and even selling out one of my own festivals locally.
I have expanded from an intern-> assistant booking manager-> independent promoter/booker within less then a year's time and now work with all different types of venues and establishments. I've built relationships with sponsorships, bands and managers in other states and much more. I'm eternally grateful for every waking opportunity Club Red has provided me, and still does, and I will always call that venue home base.
I do not want to grow up to be a promoter, a booker. I feel unless you've created the next Ozzfest, the competition is insane with politics and backstabbers. I am having so much fun, and gaining so much experience putting on different gigs around town and loving every second of it. Producing shows for these badass bands in town is allowing me to network with other people, let my name be known and take this learning experience to the next chapter of my life. I am current in ASU studying Economics but lately contemplating changing it to Finance to explore my exponentially growing interest with financial analysis with my shows I run. I don't put bands together, hide underground, cross my fingers and hope for the best. I have countless accurate predictions of past gigs that work financially and have a great turn out. I have other small businesses who take interest in my events and invest with me to make them even better.
If you're a band and want to be apart of a show, chances are I will want to work with you; my goals for the new year is to break out from the "clock in-and-out job" and be a sole proprietor in booking shows and maybe even hire employees (street teams). Once I've established this ground breaking goal all while going to school full-time as well, I know I'm ready for a career and chances are I'll be on my way.
In the meantime, 2 of the shows I take pride in currently is Keep Metal Alive Test 09, Kill Fest 09, and Tribute to the Gods :)
I do not have a promotional company name, or call myself anything. I'm simply Lara, and you'll learn it quick :)

Who I'd like to meet:
National bands, regional bands, local bands, individual artists of every style, color, shape and type of music out there! I am a heavy metal girl down to the bone but I am blown away by the talent of some artists I have met in the Indie/Rock and Country scene. I want to learn about all different types of genera and involve myself in what musicians are creating. Weather you've been a band for years or just about to play your first gig, you and I can offer each other knowledge.

I would LOVE to meet people who are the same mindset and share the same career goals as mine that I can mentor. Or can mentor me.
I would LOVE to meet Bob Jamieson (retired A&R rep who basically created the Sony music business), Brad Wavra (Live Nation senior promoter), Bob Rock (sound engineer for Metallica, etc), Jeff Blue (Senior A&R rep for Jive Records), and tons more. Honest and successful people in the music business are the famous people to me.
