The Black Swan (patent pending) is a new drum developed and created by Eric Holland and Mike Meadows. It is inspired by a traditional African frame drum (Gombe) that is primarily played by the Gha and Ashanti peoples of Ghana, West Africa. The Black Swan however, is designed for more versatility, durability and comfort. It has an instant internal tuning system, a quick head change system and an ergonomic design to maximize playability. It will accommodate any standard 16" head. It can be played while sitting on it (like a Cajon) or played with a pedal (like a Bass Drum) or upright (like a floor tom).....or any combination you choose. The Black Swans are currently in production and are made out of a wide variety of hardwoods. The first run will be available by March 18th 2009.
