I'm a book worm. Right now I'm working on a BA in English (I have a BS in Geography which, in the job department, turned out to be just that...BS, which is a tragedy). I'll get my BA in May 2010 and then I hope to get into an MFA program. I'm aiming for Iowa or Virginia...we'll see (I'll be sure to have some back ups...but why aim low?).
Music
AFI, Tiger Army, Rufus Wainwright, The Misfits (Danzig era only), Nekromantix, Horrorpops, Nim Vind, My Chemical Romance, Reverend Horton Heat, The Bird And The Bee, Lilly Allen, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc. I love psychobilly, punk, jpop and jrock, pretty much anything really. Even some country (but just the good stuff...Hank Sr, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Hank III, Hank Jr, etc...).
Movies
My favorite genre is documentary and I also like drama (particularly Focus Features). My favorite movies are Lost In Translation, Coraline, Howl's Moving Castle, Escaflowne, The Crow (I know, but I love comic book movies), Milk, Dogma, Superbad, anything they show at the Georgetown Drive-In, anything with Alan Rickman or Cillian Murphy. I like a lot of movies.
Television
Ghost Hunters, Dirty Jobs, The Exterminators, Ninja Warrior (I miss G4!!!), The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Comedy Central Presents, The Golden Girls (YAY Hallmark Channel), Paranormal State (so cheesy, but I can't help myself), Haunted Evidence, etc. I mostly watch Discovery Channel, A&E, and Comedy Central.
Books
Oh, that's like asking someone which of their children is their favorite. :D My favorite author is Haruki Murakami and my favorite book is Dance Dance Dance by him. I also love Neil Gaiman and Diana Wynne Jones. I love Now Is the Hour by Spanbauer, Perks of Being a Wallflower by Chbosky, etc. I love books! I also read A LOT of manga. Lots and lots of manga.
About me: My name is Jaimey. I consider myself androgyne (gender neutral), but I'm leaning toward ftm with no desire for hormones or surgery. I'm cool with my body. After a great deal of self exploration, I am finally acknowledging the fact that I like women (I like men too). I also like trans people. I would actually say I'm panromantic...why be limited to one group of people? I've been attracted to women for a long time, but I just wasn't willing to admit it (I was really clinging to the hetero thing...). So I'm being honest now and I know what I want (this week, anyway).
Panromantic, male identified androgyne. I think that's it.
Who I'd like to meet: I love everyone in the LGBT community! So I'd love to meet gay/bi women and men, ftms and mtfs, androgynes, whatever. I need a community! :D
