Bio
.. Matt originally started out playing guitar and singing for the band Black Velvet, they played from 2002 - 2004. After the end of Black Velvet, in August of 2006 Matt joined up with Drummer, Will Stiriz to start this side project. .. As time went on Brian Mullarkey, (former Drummer of Black Velvet, now the drummer of Thriller) also contributed his druming skills to a few of the songs in 45 Caliber as well. In August of 2007, Brian passed away, The band's first album was dedicated to Brian and in tribute the CD will have the two last songs he recorded with us. Brian's love for music was the biggest influence the band could have had. .. That November of 2007, a few months after the tragic loss, the band released "Rather Be Hated" possibly the best selection of songs created by Matt and Will. They Released a B-Sides Collection CD in May 2008. In June of 2008 they began recording their next CD, "Lead The Way", the CD was finished and released that August. 45 Caliber played their first show at Gio's Shop in Manor-Park promoting "Lead The Way". Shortly after in October 2008, the band rapidly recorded the fastest heaviest songs they could push out and managed to complete a 5th Album in just under a month's time. The CD was Titled "Free Us All" named after one of the two slow songs on the album that completely contrast the rest of the CD's raw Fast-Paced Hardcore Punk sound. In February 2009 They released "Don't Need You" a more professional sounding CD with 14 songs that leaned towards the slower Metal side of the band. In June of 2009 the band released "Defiance" a heavier CD with a darker influence and more complex songs. In October 2009, the band purchased a more professional Recording system and released the CD "Know This", The CD has highly superior quality then the previous CD's and an extremely wide range of sound very heavy to light. In November 2009, the band released "Broken", a sort of follow up album to "Know This" with only 7 songs "Broken" was more a CD of getting out raw aggression and feelings and not intended to make nice sounding songs. Matt found it to difficult to put out songs like these, so the band has been focusing on re-recording old songs on the new recorder and putting out Genre related compilations and is now hoping to play some shows. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..45 Caliber - Apocalypse (Music Video)...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

Our sound varies to many extremes, At times their is a heavy hardcore punk/metal influence such styles similar to The Melvins, Biohazard, Sepultura, Discharge, Gruntruck, Tad .. .. To an Alternative sound like Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Black Velvet, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Silverchair .. .. The extremes of this band cover many of the extremes of the "Grunge" genre created in the seattle scene. Being our style can vary so much, much like that of the early 90s and late 80s Seattle Scene it is sensable to consider 45 Caliber to be a Grunge band. Unlike current Post Grunge bands our songs generally are not often Radio Friendly. .. .."45 Caliber - "Soul" (MUsic Video)...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
