Growing up listening to many different types of music has influenced the sound of 45wax. As a kid, you tend to start on your parents collection, which in my case consisted of bollywood music ranging from the 60's all the way to the early 80's. This was truly the best era by far for Bollywood and was home to some of the best talent ever heard.
Then, as life progresses, you're influenced by your surroundings. All my friends were into Hip Hop and Rock. Having Busta Rhymes aswell as Nirvana on the same mixtape was the norm! The more I heard these genres, the more I was excited about them. Then came the gigs and concerts. I was buying tickets of bands and artists I had never heard of! I was never really a clubber or raver. I just didn't get that kick from clubbing that I got from watching someone play and live their music. Even today, I'd much rather go see someone live as opposed to a club.
45wax's diverse tastes in music is what makes his sound stand out on its own. With influences ranging from Stevie Wonder all the way through to The RD Burman; the result is a a mature, sophisticated sound way beyond most contemporary forms of music.
The directive is simple; making songs that break the mould and crush boundaries but remain timeless.
