With a long silky gloved arm, Diabolique beckons to you from behind a heavy velvet drapery. This Phoenix area troupe, known for their hit production in 2007, Romantasy Cabaret, Dirty Little Secrets, brings audiences another show season with Opulent Dreams, A journey into fantasy, opulence, and the antithesis of reality.
Once again, this group of entertainers mixes song, dance, comedy, and magical hijinx, with vaudeville, circus, and of course burlesque, to whet all appetites. This three-act extravaganza boasts a cast and crew of about twenty to thirty creative arty types from the Phoenix area, monthly starting in June in 2008 at The Sets. They present the greater Phoenix area with naughty, brash and off-color humor, along with their freakshow-to-amazing feats acts and seductive burlesque entertainers. Attendees will be treated various combinations of songs of hilarity by local funny-man & singer Tom Tuerff, strange and grotesque acts by Mother Fakir, as well as juggling tricks. They will also be treated to various fire performances with Lotta Payne and Anya Knees and of course, dangerous acts of twirling and spinning weaponry with Motley Sue. Little Egypt doses up the audience with her snake-like dancing and shimmying hips. Burlesque is presented by local favorite, Lolita Haze, newcomer Dolly Diamonds, as well as by The High Pimpstress. Opulent Dreams serves up dancing dames, brought to you by Diabolique’s crew of dancing chorus girls. Your hostess, Lucy Morals has a mouth like a sailor and is not for the faint of heart. I am stalking you now... Romantasy Cabaret 08 is now holding auditions. RomCab shows will start up in early summer again so I would like to see all auditions no later than April 11 2008. I am taking appointments now.
Despite your expertise, your talent or skill, I need to see auditions in person so as to know how to write & cast the show.
Auditions and costumes must be 100% show-ready for your appointment. If not, YOU WILL NOT BE IN SHOWS or may be asked to re-audition once you are 100% ready.
NO "Well, my costume will look like this, you get the idea" or "I dont have my music cut where I want it yet" or "I still have to finish this part and finish my prop". -If you find yourself saying these things, this may not be the show for you.
We had some REALLY good runs last year with every single show sold out, and our final show filled past capacity.
Auditions are done in full costume with exact music that you can physically hand over to me (I can cut if you make a note on the CD) and with all props 100% complete. Thank you in advance for respecting this.
