"Fresh, lively and highly inventive, Dalriada give traditional Celtic roots music a fresh coat of Australian pop-rock paint and the result does wonders for the soul... We have got something serious here. "
Rock N Reel Magazine, UK
Dalriada have been around now in various forms for almost a decade. Hailing from the Celtic rural heartland of Southern Victoria, the group have incorporated this rich culture into their music, combining it with the music they grew up with - good catchy pop tunes.
It is a melding of the ancient with the contemporary - a combination of traditional rock instruments (electric guitars and drums) with the haunting, captivating sounds of the bagpipes, Celtic bouzouki, flute, tin whistles, bodhran and congas all played with a primitive, primal passion. Catherine Ogilvy tops off this heady blend with vocals that can rock the cradle one minute and rock the boat the next.
The band have been a major drawcard at most of Australia's major festivals such as Woodford Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, The National Folk Festival, Victor Harbour Folk Festival and the National Celtic Festival.
Dalriada are creating the global sound of the future, with a glance to the past - forging new and enduring traditions.

Gday Dalriada. Greetings and salutations from The Wishing Well. We hope your happy, healthy and enjoying life. We were just in the neighbourhood so we thought we may as well drop by for a cup of tea and some iced vovo's at your space. :) Please excuse our cookie monster way of eating it's just a wishing well thing. OK well thanks for the brunch. May all your chickens lay golden eggs. Or if your vegan may all your soy beans lay golden tofu. Have a great week and remember to shine just because you can. We are playing a belated Valentine's Day gig this Friday nite (Feb. 16th) at the Cornish Arms in Brunswick at 9pm with some very special guests no vovos though sorry. Would love to see you there! Adios Amoebas.
