About me:
Our goals at Duvoisin guitars and basses:
Swiss wood, in particular sprucewood from the Vallée de Joux, is a favourite among several recognized guitar makers for acoustic guitars. Old documents about woods used for making instruments, like pianos, organs, harps and violins, show that our Swiss woods were widely employed in this field. We are currently completing a series of tests on the suitability of various Swiss woods for this purpose.
At Duvoisin & Co we aim to apply the traditions of quality Swiss workmanship to the making of guitars and basses. We apply the strictest quality standards in our manufacturing techniques. For example we use a special machine, developed in this area, for securing precision in the necks and fingerboards of our instruments.
All instruments from Duvoisin & Co, the simpler models just as much as the luxury ones in precious woods , undergo the same tests for quality and workmanship in our workshops, at every stage of the manufacturing process.
So there you have it: we are proud of our product and we aim to distribute our guitars and basses to the musical world with pride. Our ancestors were watchmakers and we wish to apply the same standards of precision and attention to detail in our handcrafted instruments, as they showed when making clocks and watches.
