Ronny Munroe is the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Metal Church. He joined in 2004, replacing David Wayne, who died due to complications following a car crash in 2005. Grew up in Fife, Washington. He was born in 1965. He has a son and a daughter.
Munroe started his music career as a drummer for the band Madhouse. Munroe's first position as a vocalist was with the band Moxi. He was the lead vocalist for the Seattle band Far Cry in the early 1990's Far Cry's CD was released in 2007 by Retrospect Records. Munroe was with the Seattle band Rottweiller when he was asked to audition for Kurdt Vanderhoof for a project Kurdt was working on. It was during that audition that Kurdt decided to resurrect Metal Church with Munroe as their frontman.
Ronny Munroe studied voice under David Kyle, who also taught Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche, and Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. Munroe is best known for his broad vocal range and power and his ability to capture his audiences attention. Beside fronting Metal Church, Ronny is also a solo artist with an upcoming release entitled "The Fire Within", due out this Spring.
