As a child of an unstable living, he was always moving back and forth between Los Angeles, California (with his mother) and Dallas, Texas (with his father). By the age of nine the state-to-state traveling had stop and TaNTrum was officially a California resident, although the instability had yet to cease. As the dictionary defines it, a tantrum is an outburst of bad behavior. This unruly conduct is best displayed by young children who scream at the top of their lungs to get the attention of their parent(s). The purpose of resorting to this level of behavior is usually because they want something that they have specifically been told they cannot have. The alias TNT describes the explosive punch lines. As a stage moniker, the definition of tantrum has not been altered at all. The word tantrum is a symbol for the delivery method of this artist’s lyrics. No he doesn’t fall out and yell on the mic, but he delivers each line with authority, which gives listeners no choice but to pay attention to what he has to say. This style was developed as a result of indirectly being told “no” by his community and society as a whole. As he explains it, “No is written all over the hood. If you want to live, you want to eat, you want to learn, or you want to sleep. The answer is always NO! Whether it’s your financial situation, your emotional state, the gangstas on the block, the police, or the gunshots. There’s always a big no sign waving in front of you, so you gotta overcome those obstacles in order to do what you gotta do” says Tantrum.
