46°halo is an indie / rock / electro / shoegaze band from Japan.
The band's first CD album, "rebirth," was released from its own label, echoroom records, on February 26, 2008.
46°halo started out as Takahiro Ishizuka's solo project.
Ishizuka was born and grew up in Hokkaido, and started a band called Gash in Sapporo.
The band relocated to Tokyo and released a few albums, toured, and performed and the Rising Sun Rock Festival.
In 2005, however, Gash split up.
After the split, Ishizuka established his own label, echoroom records, and as 46°halo, went back into the studio to record the demo "Clock" in 2006.
He went on to record several other demos.
After receiving overwhelming positive feedback on his demos on Myspace and his live shows, joined by Hiroki and Masato, he decided to go back to the studio to record a CD.
That CD, "rebirth," was released in February 2008.
Immediately after its release, bassist Kajimoto joined the group.
46°halo was then reborn as a full-fledged band.

How are you? Today I have been cleaning the windows of my apartment and the whole time I have been listening to your Rebirth album. Your songs are just the best and they make me so happy and inspired. I apologise for not being able to send you my Emerald Heart EP but I will get down to printing you a copy as soon as possible. At the moment I am working on two new records and I will very soon start rehearsing a few of those songs with my drummer Dennis at our rehearsal space.
Yesterday I added lots of synthesizers to one of my new songs and it came out with a real positive and energy filled feel to it! I am very excited about my new songs and when I have gotten a new pair of studio speakers I will complete the songs and send you those records. Have a great weekend and a very good day my friend.

I just finished a collaboration with The Passion Weak and the end result reminded me of your music! It's a track called "Terra Firma", I released it once on MySpace a while back when it was just a guitar track. Now it is a whole new element. I invite you to stop by and listen when you get a chance.
Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
