Oh wow...I love musicians such as Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Edie Carey, Melissa Ferrick, Ani DiFranco, Melissa Etheridge, Sam Shaber, Dar Williams, Indigo Girls, Julie Wolf, Katie Reider, Madeleine Peyroux, Koko Taylor, Nina Simone John Lee Hooker, B.B. King (and the Blues in general), Bonnie Raitt, Antigone Rising, Brandi Carlile, Eva Cassidy, MadAstrud Gilberto, Joni Mitchell, Over the Rhine, Doria Roberts...I could go on all day. Music is one of my truest passions...listening to it, playing it, and particularly going to see it performed live makes up a big part of my soul.Movies
I love all kinds of movies...some favorites include Juno, Fried Green Tomatoes, Boys on the Side, Young Frankenstein, all of the Star Wars, Remember the Titans, Finding Forester, The Princess Bride, Office Space, Something's Got to Give, The Sweetest Thing, Crash, Rent, Memoirs of a Geisha, Phantom of the Opera, Finding Nemo, Short Circuit...entirely too many to list!Television
I can honestly say there isn't any show that I watch devotedly right now. I'll watch reruns of shows such as Golden Girls (which I watch daily), The Nanny, Absolutely Fabulous, and Roseanne here and there and occasionally the Law and Order shows, Cash Cab, American Idol and The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search :-), but that's about it right now.Books
To Kill a Mockingbird has to be my all-time favorite. Anything by Dr. Seuss will always be classic, as well as a few other children's stories such as The Giving Tree, The Velveteen Rabbit, Runaway Bunny, and Goodnight Moon :-). Other favorites inculde: A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Sophie's World, Siddhartha, Education of Little Tree, Being Peace (and many writings of Thich Nhat Hanh), Animals in Translation (and other writings by Temple Grandin), The Bookseller of Kabul, any David Sedaris book, Born on a Blue Day, Memoirs of a Geisha, Reading Lolita in Tehran, the Harry Potter series, The Hours...but again, too many to list.Heroes
My amazing cousin, Jamie. She is a constant inspiration by championing the fight against MS as she daily struggles with the ups and downs of the disease. Her husband and her 3 kids are also amazing, all 5 of them hold my love and admiration.
