A Bit of Britton History:
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer, Michael Britton emerged on the music scene in the mid to late 70's in the Pasadena based band 'Headwinds' with keyboardist Mark Poynter (later to join 'Smile', Tommy Girvin's band, current guitarist for Eddie Money). Headwinds opened for Van Halen at the Pasadena Exibition Hall numerous times.
1978: Headwinds was signed to a publishing deal with Screen Gems EMI. In 1980 Michael Britton and Mark Poynter started 'Dealer' with pre-Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, and bassist Glen Basset.
1982 to 1984: Michael Britton was the lead singer for 'Romeo' producing an 'Iron Works Records' picture disc EP and music video releases. Romeo also included Guitarist Chet Thompson (later to join 'Hellion'), Bassist James Stone and Drummer Kevin Berry.
1984: Michael Britton founded 'Britton' with Greg Chaisson (later to join Jake E. Lee's band 'Badlands'), Gary Holland ex-'Great White' , ex- 'Dokken' drummer, Phoenix based Guitarist Jim McMellen, and Pat Schunk (later to write with Poison's Bret Michaels).
1985: Producer John Graves recorded Britton at the Record Plant in Hollywood with the support of Autograph's manager Suzie Franks.
1986: Bassist Skip Frank replaced Greg Chaisson when Britton played the Hollywood club circuit.
1987: the Britton song (and Michael Wagener produced) "Don't Wanna Be Your Fool" was featured in the movie 'Can't Buy Me Love' starring Patrick Dempsey.
1988: The same song was performed by Britton in the movie 'Rock And Roll Mom' starring Diane Cannon. Another Britton song off the Rock Hard album "No More Drinkin And Drivin" was featured in the Apollo Films movie soundtrack 'Earth Star Voyager'. That same year Long Beach Radio statio KNAC added "Don't Wanna Be Your Fool" to their playlist which caught the attention of CBS sub 'TSR Records'. TSR released the first Britton album 'Rock Hard'. It received airplay coast to coast on reporting radio stations, and the album was purchased world wide.
1989: Michael Britton wrote and recorded with Mike Wolf (Carmine Appice's 'King Cobra' guitarist).
1995: Michael Britton was introduced to Salt Lake City Radio personality Gary Michaels who added 5 songs off the Britton album 'Unleased' to KRKR's playlist. With the support of KRKR and sister stations, Britton toured the inner-mountain west with a new Britton line up featuring guitarist Allan Stewart, drummer Mark Gallegos and bassist Ken Bissett. In 2000 the rock album 'Alien Romper Room' (acclaimed as Britton's best) was released by 'Songhaus Music'. The album scored high marks with fans and critics worldwide.
2007: Michael Britton wrote and recorded the song "Ramos And Compean" which was featured on CNN's Lou Dobbs in support of the two former Texas Border Patrol Agents whose sentences were finally commuted by then President George W. Bush. Michael Britton resides in southern California, is an ASCAP Songwriter and Publisher Member, has a recording studio where he writes in many music genres, records and releases his song library to film, movie and commercial interests. He also performs as a one man acoustic 70's show throughout the western states.
