ABOUT 47 RECORDS

47 Records is an independent record label in Berkeley, California... located right in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a new label, devoted to releasing music by soulful, prolific artists from all genres. (especially acoustic, singer-sonwriter, blues, hip-hop, AAA, and funk)

Like many new labels, we have started out by signing one client and trying to develop them to their full potential. That client for us is Bay Area singer/songwriter/guitarist, CAS LUCAS.

If you have not heard Cas' music before, you can sample some of his original mellow rock songs on our profile right now. We are currently featuring rough mixes of "Slip into the Sound" & "You and Me," two previously unreleased tracks from Cas' new album, "Roads," coming in early 2007. (exact release date pending)

Cas Lucas' music has been dubbed "Acoustic Groove Rock," incorporating his deep roots in delta blues, soul, jazz, and funk into catchy acoustic rock tracks. Often inspired by his musical heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Dave Matthews, Kelly Joe Phelps, and Paul Simon, Cas' songs feature dazzling guitar playing (acoustic, electric, slide) and deeply personal lyrics.

In 2005, 47 Records released Cas Lucas' debut album, "Giving it Back", a stripped down live recording featuring 12 of best original songs. "Giving it Back" was originally Cas' demo CD, but when it received considerable critical acclaim (both in the US and overseas) and was picked up for national distribution by San Francisco's IDC, 47 Records was born.
