Interests

  • General

    -Waste of-
    -Paint-
I've never truly had any interests, at least not in any in-depth way, or something that I'm particularly proud of, or that I can easily define. I can't really think of something that has moved me, pushed me, or pulled me. I wouldn't consider myself great at anything. There are people in the world with drive, motivation, and ambition; these people focus on specific interests to such an extent that they excel in life because of their interests. When you excel at something you are interested in it begins to define you. I have yet to excel at any single interest in my life.

    -Stuff-
I like a lot of things: Animals, Art, Photography, Architecture, Driving fast, Drawing, Sex, Science, Sociology, Diseases of the mind or body, Video games, Comedy, Acting / The Theater, Modeling, Physical fitness, Clothing, Kissing, Traveling, Flying, Crying, and love.

    -Blue-
    -& Unwell-
I'm not all together here or there. I've been told that I wear my feelings on my sleeves. I'm generally melancholy and have been depressed since childhood. There is a lingering sense of sadness that gathers like a storm at the edge of my awareness. There are things that can make me cry easily, that set me off, sad movies, and music especially has a strong effect. I go through cycles where I come unglued, I fall apart completely and have to put myself back together.

    -The Mute-
    -Button-
So for the most part I shut myself off, I am usually very quiet and reserved. I feel disconnected and separate, wholly apart from everyone else, but not as something unique or special, merely irrelevant. Trapped in my own bubble, and I guess that makes me lonely.

    -Options-
"When you're depressed you have to assess your most fundamental humanity. You have to try to figure out who you are, why you're in the world, why you should stay in the world. What constitutes your strength or your weakness. You have to grapple with all those things to get through a depression. Seems to me that depression makes you take your own measure... And it obliges you to make difficult decisions... about staying alive." -Andrew Solomon.

  • Music

    -Noise-
I have an inclination towards indie music. I like music, but I don't think it defines me as a person. I can play the guitar, kind of sing, and have always thought about joining a band. I've always dreamed of taking classical piano lessons. I've also longed to see the opera Carmen performed live.

  • Movies

    -Celluloid-
My favorite writers are Noah Baumbach and Wes Anderson. I rarely get out to the cinema, whenever I end up going to the movies I always feel cheated out of $10 dollars and robbed of a few hours of my life... I'd like to go complain at the box office, ask for my time back, but I'd probably just waste it anyway...

    -On The List-
Kill Bill: Volume I & II
    28 Days later
    Shaun of the Dead
    Death to Smoochie
    Four Rooms
    Napoleon Dynamite

    The Never Ending Story
    The Lion King
    The Little Mermaid
    Beauty and the Beast
    Dumbo
    Pinocchio
    Peter Pan
    Alice In Wonderland
    The Fox And The Hound
The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh
    Aladdin
    Howl's moving Castle.

I like these movies, But wouldn't stand by them as works of art, I just find them entertaining. If you're one of those elitist film buffs that defines yourself through the movies you've seen, I'm going to kindly ask you to stop being a pretentious bitch, get out there and try to make your own fucking art instead of trying to define yourself through someone else's work; "That is very cheap, and it underminds human dignity and intelligence."

    -Monsters-
My favorite actors are: Gregg Berger, David Hayter, Matt Mackenzie, Michael Bell, Simon Templeman, Tony Jay, Keith David, Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman, Ed harris, Edward Norton, Brendan Gleeson, Robin Williams, Sean Penn, Ewan McGregor, Joaquin Phoenix, Johnny Depp, Harvey Keitel, Gene Hackman, William Hurt, Kevin Spacey, Sigourney Weaver, Helena Bonham carter, Morgan Freeman, Burgess Meredith, and Orson Welles.

  • Television

    -Fucking-
    -idiot-
    -Box-
I don't keep my TV plugged in, I almost never turn it on. I don't have any favorite TV shows, I don't have regularly scheduled programming, and I never "tune in".

    -At Least-
    -Learn-
    -Something-
Okay, so if I actually do end up watching TV, it's The History Channel, or Discovery, or animal planet. but beyond that, I can't be bothered.

    -I'd hit it-
The Celebrities that I find Attractive are: Keri Byron(Myth Busters), Rachel McAdams, Mary Louise Parker, Natalie Portman, Alyson Hannigan, Leelee Sobieski, Laura Prepon, Famke Janssen, Helena Bonham carter, Milla Jovovich, Kirsten Dunst, and Diane Lane.
  • Books

    -Chapter 11-
I have only read five books in my entire life.
    "Fear and Loathing"
    "The Noonday Demon"
    "Anthem"
    "Fight Club"

    -Anti heroes-
One time, I went to a book store with the intention of buying "Paradise lost" and "Dante's inferno". The concepts behind the stories are amazing, but the poetic writing styles made reading them too arduous for me to deal with, I gave up after 30 minutes.

    -Whaling-
I read most of Moby Dick by Herman Melville, the first two chapters are amazing. The dialog in the movie is awesome. Fuck the book.

  • Heroes

    -Influences-
I don't have any heroes. If I had a hero, they'd probably be someone that is dead. I've never had a hero, just a multitude of flawed mentors.

I am quite fond of Abraham Lincoln, Freddie Mercury, Leeroy Jenkins, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Alan Watts, Richard Feynman, George Carlin, and Godzilla.

    -The world-
You know what? The world is a shitty place, full of shitty people; that do shitty things to themselves and to others. Galileo wasted his time with the Copernican theory. The sun really isn't the center of our solar system, you are asshole.

About me:

"They got a quick buck for this shit load of fuck."

..

-Name, Rank, Serial number-
This is where people write about how beautiful and unique they are, they end up stringing together bullshit incidental adjectives that don't mean anything. Have you ever noticed that when people make lists in order to define themselves, they seem just like everyone else?

.... ..
It is a great piece of folly to attempt to make anything out of my early life, it can all be condensed into a simple sentence, and that sentence you will find in Gray's Elegy:
'The short and simple annals of the poor.'

That's my life,
and that's all you or anyone else can make out of it.

- Abraham Lincoln

-Potential I'll Never See-
My name is Zak, and my last name is of ukrainian origin. I live in Miami florida. I dropped out of high school in 9th Grade. Instead of getting a GED, I enrolled in a fully accredited private school and got my highschool Diploma (GPA 3.82) at the age of 23. ..I intend on going to college/ University.....I have no idea what I want to do... I think I'm going to pursue a degree in musical composition... ..Okay okay, now I want to do musical engineering and digital video editing. .. Okay, maybe not. Eat me.

-Not living, I'm just killing time-
My life seems to have a disinclination to motion, and I know that I move especially slow; I am a perpetual child. I haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up... Really, I think I'd prefer to never grow up at all, though I can't help but grow old. As a kid I suspected that adults were all full of shit, and now as an adult I've confirmed my childhood suspicions.

"I have no doubt that it is the peculiar misfortune of both you and me to dream dreams of elysium far exceeding all that anything earthly can realize."

- Abraham Lincoln

-Carry A big Stick-
I'm kind of introverted, not necessarily shy, just awkward, and I don't always make eye contact during conversation. I lack interest in the mundane progression of most peoples daily lives, especially my own. I don't care what anyone does for a living and I don't conjure up or Regurgitate opinions on things I know nothing about. I tend to be an observer, where I find myself on the outerfringe of a conversation, lingering near by, just listening. I don't want to be part of every conversation. You learn a lot about the people around you, and about the world, by just listening instead of trying to be heard.

-POOLS CLOSED-
I'm a nerd and a complete goober. I enjoy playing video games, I prefer sprites over polygons. My World of Warcraft character has better gear than yours. I appreciate fully articulated action figures. I'm easily amused by internet humor, absolutely nothing offends me. People tend to call themselves cynical or sardonic, but I'm really just a douchebag like you. <3

-The Spoken word-
I enjoy tragedies, sad stories, and spoken language. The recitation of compelling dialog moves me to no end. There's nothing quite as riveting and beautiful as a commanding voice. A strong voice can rally nations, stir hearts, and bring about the fiercest of tears.

"A Tragedy is a literary work in which the main character comes to ruin as a consequence of a moral weakness or fatal flaw."

- George Carlin

I AM A MONSTER.

"If a person brings so much courage into the world that the world must kill him to break him, so of course it kills him. The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those it cannot break, it will kill; It kills the very good, the very gentle, and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these things the world will kill you too, but there will be no special hurry."

- Hemingway
A Farewell to Arms, 1929

-Set to Record-
I have an idiot savant like capacity for remembering things about people. Not word for word, just the general details, and not all the time, just about random Stuff.

-Fuck Your Scene-
I have come to find that I am anti-social, but then again, it's honestly very hard to find people worth spending time with. Granted, being miserable and rotting alone in my room isn't exactly the best way to live... But OMG, if you're some pretentious MIA/LA/NY tool that spends 90% of the day thinking about clothing "lines," or movie auditions, or modeling jobs, or if you hang out in the same clubs as Paris Hilton, or dated some loser from a reality TV show... and if you're some sorry ass indie film fag that thinks you're a producer because you wrote some shitty script and filmed it on a crap semi-professional camera; please do me a favor and kill yourself. I don't care which famous dicks you've sucked. Suck mine or go away. KTHXBYE!

-Fuck All That Noise-
I'm not part of any social group or scene. The Miami Night life: consisting of Clubs, bars, and strip joints; really isn't my cup of tea. I don't have a clique, or peeps. I don't know someone who can "get us in". I don't have the "mad hookups", and I've never met the DJ. You won't catch me drinking myself to death and pawning it off as a "Good time"... and no, You won't find me in a champagne room doing bumps off the belly of some tragically damaged whore.

"I don't fit in society and I am incompetent. Oh I'm definitely incompetent... and I say that. There's nothing wrong with being incompetent, ya see, because you don't have to do as much. If you're competent then you have a lot to do. But there's another aspect of it too. I've learned to reflect... I just reflect back. I know I don't know, I know I'm stupid, I admit I'm a petty... whatever. I've never been a success at anything. I even got to the point where I didn't want to be a success at anything. What would... being a success, what does that mean?"

- Charles Manson

-My Absent God-
Religion. I'm not a religious person. In my opinion, everyone has a right to their own religion, and their own beliefs. I don't believe in God... I just haven't seen enough evidence to prove that "God" exists, But I've also been wrong about a lot of things in life. If you believe in god, I'm perfectly fine with that. It's your right. I'm not an atheist, basically just a secularist. Religion tends to have a poetic essence, and I appreciate that aspect quite a bit. I'm a fervent believer in fatalism. But if you're in the business of selling god, then I'm not buying.

.. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

-..TITS OR GTFO..-
I'm interested in people who are innate achievers, people who possess amazing talents or skills. As far my sexual preference goes, I like girls, All kinds; Tall, short, skinny, or thick. I heart Tomboys, punks, freaks, hipsters, and geeks. Whatever makes me happy, and suits my fancy. For the most part the standing criteria is that you have to be some kind of fucking creep, apparently. Oh, and people are a lot more appealing in theory, at least here on the internet we can suspend belief, in person it's like "Ewwww... I'm actually me and you're actually you." and it's nearly impossible to find someone that's just as gross, they're either too disgusting or not disgusting enough.

-..Blah.. ..blah.. blah-
A person's every nuance can't possibly be completely encompassed by a myspace profile. I see precious little reason in sending people messages such as: "Hello, You're simply splendifferous! I think you're aesthetically pleasant looking! Let's be friends!" The Friends request in and of itself is suffice. Supposing two people share common interests, that doesn't mean they will clique... And I can't tell who I will clique with prior, only in hindsight. Besides- there's something like 8 billion people on the planet, and they sure as hell don't just knock on your door.

"All that most maddens and torments; all that stirs up the lees of things; all truth with malice in it; all that cracks the sinews and cakes the brain; all the subtle demonisms of life and thought; all evil, to crazy Ahab, were visibly personified, and made practically assailable in Moby Dick. He piled upon the whale’s white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst his hot heart’s shell upon it."

- Moby Dick, Herman Melville

And that, as they say, is that.

Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life... a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year - and the deep, deep connection of all these things with God.  ~Ray Stannard Baker (David Grayson)

Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness.
