Sounds Like
..... what you would expect a band to sound like, that has a vocalist heavily versed in theater, 2 guitarists that draw on influences from classic rock to metal, a bassist that thinks like a guitar player and has an ear for production, and a drummer that can go from playing charts on a miles davis song to meshuggah without missing a beat.
-BAND BIO-
We are an all original band from West Chester, PA. Our sound is on the heavy side- a fusion of metal and acoustic guitar harmonies, combined with middle-eastern sounding melodies. The band was conceived in 2001 in State College, PA. A few line up changes and setbacks later, the band re-emerged with core members, Ralph and Doug and new members John and Wyatt in 2007. Christopher was added to the fold in January of 2009.
The songs on this page are from the band's 1st demo CD. Recording of the music was finished in March '06 and Ralph threw down some vocal ideas in October '06. If anyone is interested in a copy of our demo please feel free to contact us on this page.
**WHY :48 AFTER? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?**
"I started the band back in 2001 with a name already etched in my brain: 48 After. The name derived from a single random event which took place a few years earlier when a friend of mine asked me what time it was. When I looked at my watch it was exactly 11:48. Rather than rounding it off as most would by saying "ten of" or "quarter of" I said, "48 after." For some reason, those words echoed around in my head for the entirety of that evening. Strangely enough after that night, every time someone mentioned the time or asked what time it was, I responded by saying "48 after" and every time coincidently, it would be 48 minutes after some hour. This scenario occurred day after day with the number 48 appearing every time I seemed to look over at a nearby clock. Digital or not, the clocks always read 48 minutes after the hour when I would glance over at them."
"Weeks into the 48 after experience things began to intensify as I (and many other friends in my circle) began experiencing not only the number 48 occurring on the clock but rather appearing in other realms of life at 48 minutes after the hour. Many scenarios involved a series of events revolving around the mysterious number. One night for example, my friend and I walked into a crowded living room packed with random, unfamiliar people. Across the room we see a guy sporting a shirt with a huge "48" on the back. He begins walking towards us without saying a word and leaves the party. As we watch him through the window we take notice he's pulling his car out of a parking spot labeled "F-48." As he pulls away my friend and I look at each other in awe as we become aware of the time: 11:48! An hour later we find ourselves in awe again as we flip through the channels on my girlfriends television to a local channel revealing a big flashy "48" on the screen. A cheesey jingle accompanied the logo chanting "channel 48" in an old-fashioned sounding tone as if taken from the 1950's. Immediately our eyes focus on the clock above the television: 12:48!"
"Experiences like this one and much more peculiar ones have occurred on a steady basis for about the last ten years. If I were to document to you all the events I've experienced involving the number 48 and/or 48 minutes after the hour, this website would easily be the length of a novel. I did want to share with you, however, the background behind this on-going enigma that has lead me to believe that perhaps there are coincidences in life that carry a deeper meaning. There are of course believers and non-believers as you would expect but only those who believe will begin to experience these coincidences, whether they involve the number 48 or some other unique sort of entity. I once opened a fortune cookie and it said "bring more people into your circle." The first lucky number on the back was "48." Hopefully I've brought some of you into our circle today..."
Some of the songs on this page date back to the birth of :48 After. Enjoy.
