This is why I do what I do. Music is my way of telling you all that LOVE is real, that POSITIVITY is real, that HOPE is real, and that all of these need to be expressed and SHARED with all of us alike. But remember: It does not matter in which religion, faith, believe, theological reasoning, or whatever else that touches your life in a beautiful way--what is important is that we ALL realize that our lives are much more and that WE can impact others here and abroad. Let us bring back community and love for one another!
I know that these types of situations are not new, but these kids touched my heart for several reasons, and I feel like I have to share it with all of you. I hope you understand what I am talking about.
48 States Away is a young yet wise group of artists utilizing their gifts of music and creating new-tasty (that is correct--tasty) music for people to dance or meditate to at all times. We love innovation and music experimentation. At the same time, we recognize that simplicity moves people more often, rather than complex sounds that no one can appreciate or understand. Our main purpose is to make people think a little, but have fun while at it.

Decades of Caribbean music influences, meets United States hip-hop & dance scenes, meets acoustic-drive and folklore, meets good 'ol mellow-Southern times between friends.
48 States Away's music differentiates from most artists' because of the unique backgrounds of our members. All of us have come from different races, states, countries, and really—stories. The beauty of these events occurring is that these journeys ended up with an open, yet similar view of life for all of us alike.
We have strong Latin influences yet a unique experimental force with the simplicity of acoustic instruments, thus creating a beautifully composed piece of art.

Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet.
To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you.
We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV this week with the full line up. We are currently taking bookings for gigs/concerts/festivals and can be contacted on the email above, or through our myspace and facebook pages.
