Our influences pretty much give it away -Powerful, Melodic, Anthemic Rock with an Old School Twist.... Or who are we like - A mix of all our influences put together in a Russian cocktail mixed with ice a small glacier cherry, and glazed with an icing of ROCK N ROLL...
Unkle Monty formed in March 2007, and after 4 months, we were out showcasing our look, sound and energy. Now with an established presence & wealth of gigs under our belt along with a packed set of powerful, anthemic, rock solid tracks, we're totally digging our music, fans, gigs, the rock n roll life and attracting interest from all around... All of us have got loads of music ex's as you would expect and have built our 'supergroup' to what we feel has the best of all worlds.... Good attitude, good skills and good experience.
Reviews
"I last saw Unkle Monty at the excellent Bigge Venue at The Tardebigge in Redditch a few months ago, and I've got to say that if you're up for a heavy-bluesy night out with more original riffs than I've counted for many-a-moon, then the ex-Volume One-ers won't let you down. A solid blend of Free-ish and Ted Nugent mainstream that's foot-tappingly feelgood, and I guarantee it'll tick all the right boxes for you metal-heads out there" ....Andy O'Hare 25.04.08 - http://www.notjustsauce.co.uk/Features.htm
"A couple of days later I popped up to check out probably the best stage and sound system in Worcestershire at the Tardebigge in Redditch. What used to be Volume One are now Unkle Monty and it's hard not to think of James Dean Bradfield when the frontman pitches his curveball notes at you. There's plenty of variety, though, and a searing bassline from the Midland boogie-boys, and if you're a Free or LedZep throwback (like me for example) then you'll be well pleased with the not-too-heavy - heavy set"

"Fresh from a string of gigs Unkle Monty are pushing forward with their tight blend of Rock and Indie. They are the real deal, searing bass lines and curveball vocal melody, with rock solid drums. Unkle Monty was Born in early 2007 when the three members of Volume One were joined by Matt. They cut accross various Genre to appeal to many. Hearing is believing. Come and check them out" .... Less than 4 weeks to go (remember the new date!) to what is sure to be the best West Fest yet, with 15 bands on two stages giving continuous live music for almost 10 hours!
Plus lots of arts and crafts, children's entertainment, plenty of food options and beer from the Malvern Hills Brewery.
Tickets are the same price as last year: £5 adult, £3 U-18, £10 family.
Hey Unkle Monty, sorry but The Blue Stones are supporting us already(they run the night), but will let you know if we have any gigs in the future and we would be up for supporting you as well. Best wishes, Joe
