About me:
I am actually the author of Manga: The Complete Guide, an encyclopedia of all manga printed in English coming out in August 2007. My name is Jason Thompson and I'm a manga editor, comics artist and writer for Otaku USA magazine. I was born in San Francisco, grew up in Sonoma County, went to school at UC San Diego, moved back to San Francisco, and worked for Viz (the anime and manga publisher) for 10 years. I've read almost every manga published in English.

I've also drawn a bunch of comics, of which my current and favorite project is The Stiff. I also adapted some H.P. Lovecraft stories. I live in the Tenderloin, and I've been blessed to have nerdy jobs all my life.

Lastly, I have a livejournal.

My friend... well he is a little broken hearted and needs some inspiration :b

Hey! Will you be down to dress up as Jojo characters for this year's halloween?? I think it will be such a cool idea! (teaming up with someone dressed up as a stand is also ideal..)

Feel free to delete the hated, repugnant fish. I think it has a certain ugly charm, but if you don't sense the charm all that's left is ugly.

Hey J! Hope all is well in the new pad. Just wanted to check in to say I really appreciated & valued your feedback (I had to print it out to be able to go over it all) and am planning on responding in detail. Have you seen "300" yet? This weekend, "El Topo" is playing a revival house here in L.A... here's hoping it doesn't let me down!!

Brother, I am coming to visit you in eight days, and I require a trip to JapanTown, or any other strange and mystical place that San Francisco can offer. Then let's have long chats as we ponder what the hell we're doing with our lives. Oh wait, that's just me. You're the "contracted book author."
You're so cool.

POOKY!
My brother is the coolest person alive. Or at least the coolest dude in North Beach. Or perhaps just the coolest guy who lives in Vallejo St. in San Francisco. Or maybe not.
But he's my brother, and that's good enough for me.
