49 West Coffeehouse is a venue for musicians that want their music heard.
The room is small and intimate so you can't help but get enwrapped with the music and get to know the musicians through their artistry.
The list of talented local musicians (Dan Hass, UJE, Rob Levit, Mary Byrd Brown, Jonathan Stone, Adrian Bond, etc) that have played here are endless and the star struck power of those who are nationally and internationally known (Joe Byrd, Joe Pisapia, David Mead, Joshua Breakstone, Frank Viognola, Gene Bertoncini, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, etc.) have also presented numerous nights of amazing and groovin music.
The genres of music range from mostly jazz (traditional, brazilian, fusion, swing,etc) but there are also nights of bluegrass, folk, blues, folk-rock, singer-songwriters, electronica/
ambiant and classical. Live music is played 7 nights a week and reservations are highly recommended!
49 West is a full service restaurant, coffeehouse, bar and art gallery. Art shows change monthly and there is an art reception every 1st Sunday of the month to meet and greet the selected artist from 5-8pm. Feel free to go to our website and take a look at our menu and other avenues of 49 West!

You forgot to mention that 49 West is THE favorite hang-out for Annapolis area writers. I wrote most of my first Nick Schaevers PI novels at various tables there. If Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir were alive and living in Annapolis, Brian and Sarah's 49 West Café would be where they would hold court. What other wine bar café eatery — with art galleries — has dictionaries in their "lending library" of novels and other reading material? The coffee is the best in town (especially with a wee touch or Irish Wiskey)!
