Profile Edited by Layout Source MySpace Editor In 2006, 4Phor burst out on to the music scene, with his first solo mix tape “CEO Status”. Quickly catching ears of fans from overseas &most of the southern states, with his lead out singal ”Ourz” featuring Skye(the limit). Phor brought back a vintage fun style that has been missing in hip hop for some time. Already recognized & remembered for indie smashes such as “Up!”, “Money Maker”. Making the transition from ceo to artist was pretty easy, with support from industry insiders like Dj Lazy K, Phor was able to debute a well awaited double disc mix tape to the world. But let’s take it back to the beginning to see where it all started.
On a cold November in 1982 a change took place. The royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana in Great Britain, President Reagan survives assassination attempt, and the first launch of Space Shuttle. But something greater happened than all those historical events, 4Phor aka Urz Truly was born. Growing up in the Gunhill area of the Bronx isn't a easy thing, with a high crime rate there's only a few ways to escape the harsh day to day environment. Music was 4Phor's escape. As a young child growing up in the 80's hip hop became 4Phor's main interest throughout his life. Influenced by veteran's such as LL Cool J, Nice and Smooth, and RunDmc & plenty more, 4Phor's style of music can be considered an ode to the golden era of hip hop where having fun took presidence over the gun raps of the present. At the start of the early 90's 4Phor began writing his first rhymes. In the beginning just playing around and then taking it more serious as time went on, around 1999 he was ready to make his move. B-CUBE Productions was 4Phor's first business venture in music, a production company with some promising talent but weren't solid on the business side of things. But in 2002 things quickly turned around for 4Phor, learning from his previous mistakes he decided to form Gutta Mouth Recordz, which were quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the underground scene. But 4Phor's life wasn't always filled with success, he has faced numerous pitfalls from not having the right team, to industry bullshitters, haters, and doubters. But he hasn't let those problems detour him from making it big.
In 2005 4Phor decided to step into the spot light and promote himself fully as an artist. Creating a growing buzz on the Internet through web sites like myspace, and by word of mouth. His sophomore project ”Music &Me” is well anticipated in 2007,but unknowing to the public(until now). Phor has ended Gutta Mouth Recordz & has been developing artist under the Uptown imprint. Now managing up & coming acts under ”Top Knoch Music”, it seems Phor has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Gearing up for his first major debut release in 2009,4phor is back with a new single "Eveyday" that was leaked in holiday season of 2008. With his buzz building back up,UrzTruly4 doesnt look like he's slowing down any time soon.
