Music
I'm ecclectic here: rock, pop, country, bluegrass, classical...the range is big. Hey, I just like and appreciate music and talent--genre isn't that important. Most faves are AC/DC and Harry Connick, Jr. Like I said, with music I'm eclectic.
Movies
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (anything MP, actually), The Princess Bride, The Philadelphia Story, Meet Me in St. Louis, An Affair to Remember, all the X-Men movies, The Jerk, Ever After, etc.
I'm a huge classic movie buff. Jimmy Stewart is my all-time fave, but also big faves of mine are Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland, Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum, Marilyn Monroe, and Cary Grant.
Television
Heroes, My Name is Earl, Friends, Ghosthunters, Will & Grace, The Waltons, Family Guy, Futurama, Bones, Body of Evidence, Forensic Files, COPS, Murder by the Book
Books
J.R.R. Tolkien, Sue Monk Kidd (read "The Secret Life of Bees"... great book), Tami Hoag, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, Stephen King, C.S. Lewis, Christopher Paolini
Heroes
I have admiration and great love for many people: my parents, my husband, my son, my brother and sister, my grandparents (all four of them), and all the friends in my life who are true friends (not the fair weather ones). I have to say I'm surrounded by a whole gaggle of incredible people, and for that I am truly grateful and awed.

""Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory." - Susan B. Anthony
Professionally, I'm a graphic designer and a writer. Personally, I'm a huge pet welfare advocate, a local music enthusiast and supporter, a mother and a wife, and a firm believer in giving of myself and my time to make the world a little better.
My husband is a guitarist who's been playing in bands in Central Ohio for years. I have a teenaged son and we have 4 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues (not the son, just the animals).
I'm one of those oddball creative types, a Ford Mustang freak (what? you couldn't tell?), not afraid to express my opinion (though I am tactful), and on an eternal search for a horror movie that actually scares me (only "The Exorcist" ever has).
Some random and useless things about me (a.k.a. why I'm a dork):
Vanilla ice cream is just wrong. If it doesn't have something in it, on it or beside it (like apple pie), there's no point in it. Vanilla = BORING! My favorite ice cream? Anything NOT vanilla.
I taught ballroom dancing waaaay back in the day. In the late 80s to be exact. The Cha-cha was my specialty. It's the only one I can still remember the steps to. The rest-- well-- if you don't use it, you lose it.
I got my first Mustang in 1988. It was an '85 convertible that I bought at Bob Keim Ford. I bought my current Mustang in 2008. It's a '05 convertible that I bought at Jim Keim Ford. There are strange pony forces at work!
I have a shoe and purse fetish. Just ask my husband how many of each I have and he'll roll his eyes.
I secretly love to watch The Brady Bunch. Yes, I recognize the huge cheesiness of the show, but I can't stop myself. If it's on, I have to watch it. But I have to watch it by myself so no one else sees my dorkiness.
I have a CD of "The Animaniacs" and sometimes I listen to it.
I can recite the Charm of Making from "Excalibur". If you've seen the movie, it's the stream of babble that Merlin uses to cast spells. Yep, I know it word-for-nonsensical-word. DORK!
The following quotes reflect my philosophies on life and living:
Walk in the rain, jump in mud puddles, collect rocks, rainbows and roses, smell flowers, blow bubbles, stop along the way, build sandcastles, say hello to everyone, go barefoot, go on adventures, act silly, fly kites, have a merry heart, talk with animals, sing in the shower, read childrens' books, take bubble baths, get new sneakers, hold hands and hug and kiss, dance, laugh and cry for the health of it, wonder and wander around, feel happy and precious and innocent, feel scared, feel sad, feel mad, give up worry and guilt and shame, say yes, say no, say the magic words, ask lots of questions, ride bicycles, draw and paint, see things differently, fall down and get up again, look at the sky, watch the sun rise and sun set, watch clouds and name their shapes, watch the moon and stars come out, trust the universe, stay up late, climb trees, daydream, do nothing and do it very well, learn new stuff, be excited about everything, be a clown, enjoy having a body, listen to music, find out how things work, make up new rules, tell stories, save the world, make friends with the other kids on the block, and do anything else that brings more happiness, celebration, health, love, joy, creativity, pleasure, abundance, grace, self-esteem, courage, balance, spontaneity, passion, beauty, peace, relaxation, communication and life energy to...all living beings on this planet. -Bruce Williamson, It's Never Too Late To Have A Happy Childhood, 1987
There is an awful lot of negative energy out there and some of it is directed at us by other people. But other people’s reactions and opinions are simply other people’s reactions and opinions. They are having their own experience and none of it has anything to do with you - it does not make you wrong, guilty, bad, unworthy, famous, loveable, or important. If you take it personally and take on the poison of another’s words, it becomes a very negative agreement you have with yourself. What anybody thinks about you, or says about you, is really about them. Not taking it personally allows you to be in relationship with anyone and not get trapped in their stuff. This agreement can also pertain to things that we take personally that cause us to go into upset. -Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements
Fear less, hope more;
Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more;
Hate less, love more;
And all good things are yours. -Swedish Proverb
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself. -Harvey Fierstein
MY BUSINESSES:
SITES I FREQUENT: Images and banners are also links.
Who I'd like to meet: I love to meet new people. Fun people. Diverse people. Nice people. Animal lovers (like me). Mainly just sincere, genuine, honest people.
On my "go away" list: ego-maniacs, liars, cheaters, backstabbers, and haters. I don't have the time nor the patience for that type of person. If you have a chip on your shoulder or think the world revolves around you, I'm not the friend you're looking for.
Thanks for the add!! If you can, please come out and see us this Saturday. If that doesn't work, we'll be in your neck of the woods at the Nike Sports Lounge in November.
