Hip hop now has a new voice to represent the new direction it needs to take.
Introducing 4RON; artist/songwriter/arranger/engineer from the Crotona Park section of the South Bronx representing TME Studios. A graduate of New York City's prestigious Institute Of Audio Research, 4RON has gone on to record vocals for the likes of Styles P., Jin, Cassidy of Full Surface Records, Foxx "Boogie" Baige (manager for M.O.P), Fiend (formerly of No Limit Records) and Team Saga's own Lord Tariq. He was featured in support of a Busta Rhymes performance for a Summer Jams pre-party in addition to the indie movie "30 Years To Life". He opened for Jadakiss in Atlanta and had the distinct priviledge of appearing in VH1's "Driven" segment on Eve; as well as the west coast DJ Fingaz "Guns & Roses III" mixCD. But none of that can surpass the honor of sharing the stage with the likes of the legendary Just-Ice, Brand Nubian, The Roots, Consequence, Keith Murray and many others at the last hip hop show held at The Knitting Factory in NYC which was headlined by the God himself Rakim Allah. His debut "The Start Up" features production from Neo Da Matrix (Rhianna, Juelz Santana, Tru Life, Cassidy, etc.) and Elite (D-Block, Jim Jones, Kool G Rap, Joe Buddens), as well as indie producers Shok (DMX, Big Pun, Eve, Rah Digga) and DJ Sincere. The first single, "In My Hood" produced by Preservation (tour DJ for Mos Def), was featured on the MUN2 Spanish variety show "The Roof"; with over 14 million viewers worldwide. He also can be heard on the collaborative song "Push N Shove" produced by Rob Sonic, from Creature's independent release "Never Say Die". 4RON has made appearances on "The Music TV" SKYE CT. 13 in Waterbury, CT., in addition to the TV Shows "Alive With Clive" with Clive Swersky in White Plains, NY, Smart Kidz TV on BCAT Ch. 68 in Bklyn, NY; "Open" with Dr. Bob Lee (WBLS) & Rhina Valentin; both airing on BronxNet Ch. 67. He's been featured twice on NYU's college radio station 89.1 FM, "The Halftime Show" with Dj Eclipse & Dj Skizz, EOTM Radio; as well as Arrizma Radio on www.calientehitzmix.com (for which his new video "Queen" is currently in rotation), WBAI 99.5 FM & The Mothership Connection with Bea Montgomery on WLIU. He performed live with the group Collective Flow & D' Final Decision Band in the Emergenza World Music Festival. He also appeared alongside hip hop legends Busy Bee and Poor Righteous Teachers for hurricane Katrina relief at The Maya Angelou Charter School in Washington D.C.; he, along with Collective Flow, received numerous favorable mentions in publications such as the Mt. Vernon Inquirer and The Journal News. He has performed various shows in and around the NYC area including the Arts On Third festival in Mt. Vernon, Showtime At The Apollo, Joe's Pub, Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar, The Bitter End, LQ Lounge, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Metropolitan Room, Arlene's Grocery, Crash Mansion, Club Pyramid, Don Hill's, Karma Lounge, Club Vesta, M1-5, Rothko, Club Heaven, Mercury Lounge, North Six as well as a host of others. This year Washington DC will take its place as the leading plus-size fashion capital of the world as we bring you the NAAFA 2009 Fashion Show & Auction Dinner being held on Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Dulles Airport Marriott. NAAFA is the world's oldest, largest civil rights organization working to improve the lives of people of size. We turn forty years old this year and are going strong with the strength we need to build a new future. This major fund raising event for our organization will feature food, fashion, music and our well known Not-So-Silent Auction.
Plus size fashion designers from around the country will present their latest collections of inspired designs. These talented designers have a sincere desire to see women return to the truth within themselves as expressed through what they wear, giving women of any age and size the opportunity to be truly fabulous. We are happy to announce that we have award winning makeup artist, Maisie Dunbar, to assist our volunteer model participants with their makeup and hair stylists from Paul Mitchell The School Virginia to finish their looks.
