Ready for the Downpour is now avalible at Discology in Reno! On California and Sierra this charming little store is a haven for all sorts of local musicians...check out all kinds of good music you never knew existed! .. Also thank you to 93.9 KRLT in Lake Tahoe, 100.1 KTHX "The X", and 107.1 KRBS in Oroville for spinning my music. I'd also need to send a shout out to the RGJ and RNR for their reviews a while back, which you can read in my blog! .. .............. .. .. .. ............ I’m Ryan James… So a bio…I guess that’s what we are doing here. What to say about Ryan, what has he done in his life that the myspace masses would find interesting?...I say monkey a lot…is that interesting? Actually, my goofy exterior belies a deep inner sadness and passion that drives my music…in translation, I’m that guy at the party who first attracts the girl by being confident weird, and then chases her away by jumping to the “I’m really a sensitive guy at heart” move to soon. So what does this mean for my music? Just about everything is written off of experiences in my life, most notably the crushing of my overly sensitive heart. I try to tell stories, both straight and metaphorically, and like to focus on the description of detail. Details that make a moment that most might not remember until someone else describes it to them. The actual melodies and lyrics themselves are almost incidental as one just starts coming out, creating the other. I find most of my music by mistake, leading to the need to create more because nothing ever comes out like I want it to. Songs either flow out all at once, or almost never get finished. .. So I hope you like the music. More importantly I hope they make you feel something. The most humbling experiences I’ve ever had are when someone tells me my song affected them emotionally in some way. Let them make you sad, let them pick you up, let them help you see that you are not alone. Everyone has similar bumps in the road. Everyone has heartache. But I say let that affect your life. Revel in the emotion and let it hurt to let it heal. I am not so arrogant as to say I am eloquent enough to bring you life better than the next songwriter. But it is my life I bring to you and who better to tell that story. All I can hope is that this story, pulled from the ashes of my human experience, can affect yours in some way. Enjoy the music.

I listen to everything and nothing I write ever sounds like what I want it to sound like...and since I am a different person from day to day I feel it would be irresponsible of me to list any specifics.
